Requesting some tips...

Ok, so now that I've been at this for about 2 1/2 weeks, I'm getting to the point where I feel great about doing this. I started with an SS No. 7, and almost immediately bought a 510. Gave the No. 7 away to someone who was interested in vaping. Just a few days ago, I picked up a DSE-801 for around-the-house vaping, since I tend to vape enough to kill 510 batteries before I can charge them.

Now I get to the point where I feel comfortable enough in the habit that I can start asking things like:

1) How do I get more vapor out of a 510? I'm using the stock manual batteries, and the vapor and flavor is good, but I just seem to get moderate vapor. I believe I'm using PG juice, the majority of it is from TheVaporPro (where I ordered my 510), and I also have some Johnson's Creek sampler flavors as well. I've noticed that the JC stuff puts out less vapor than the stuff from TVP, but both are moderate.

2) What's the best way to clean out cartridges? I've seen many people raving about the PTB mods, but I was wondering if I could just pull the stuffing out of a cart and wash it and stuff it back in.

3) How can I get more vapor out of an 801? In the same vein as question 1, the 801 seems to put out a lot more vapor (albeit cooler vapor) than the 510. I know the 510 attys burn hotter than the 801, but short of getting an HV mod, is there any 'tricks' to getting better vapor production?

I plan on getting a passthrough, probably for the 801, within the next week or two, as that seems like it's the better option for my around-the-house vaping (lasts longer, bigger carts, etc.).

not sure of any tips except for the VG I picked up from Wal-Mart. I also own a 510 and it does help with vapor production depending how much you decide to use. I don't own measuring set's to know how much liquid i use. so i measure by drops (im sure it's a mistake) which will do for now i suppose.

JC sample pack was my first order too. IT was good enough I suppose although I recently ordered the menthol from TW along with Marboro. Hands down 1,000 times better and a ton more vapor include that with smaller puffs and it's hands down the smarter choice. you spend a few extra bucks from you should have a smile on your face.

mmm . . . obviously these tips are coming from a newbie but if anyone else knows of idea's im all ears.

The 510 puts out a good amount of vapor in general.
If you want more you might want to think about a high voltage model.

But, with that being said, VG will always produce far more vapor.
I've also noticed that JC juices often have less vapor, so I add some VG Ecopure to mine.

I am currently in the process of ordering some High Voltage juices from Nhaler.
They are supposed to give more vapor and taste better on manual batteries and HV mods.

Yes, you can do that if you want to.
You can probably even reuse/refill it a few times before you need to change it out.

Comes down to technique..

I assume you are dripping. If you are not start, even with the cart in. That will give you the most vaprr.

Don't be afraid to take a primer puff. Sure vape might be coming out on your 1st draw, but quickly let it out of your mouth with the e-cig still in it a take another draw. There is going to be more vaper.

Also play around with getting the correct number of drops. Its really really easy to flood the thing. You think its not putting out vape so you add more juice, making it worse and worse.

Practice is the way to get it, technique is the key..

AS for high volt mods, they do put out more vape, but... For my USA Mix, it makes the vaper warmer, and a bit more of it.. However it turn the flavor from a sweet hint to a bitter hint. Thats running 5V off a PT. Personally I am happy with the amount of vape I get with stock 3.7 volts.

I'm rather worried about dripping the 801 because it came with automatic batteries and I don't want to kill them before I get my passthrough. I've been wary of automatic batteries since I got my No. 7 and one day one of the batteries stopped charging altogether.

I may pick up some manual batteries for it, but for my dripping needs, I use my 510.

Thanks for the tips, though, everyone, and if anyone else has any, keep em comin! I'd love to have a wealth of tips to give to the people I've been introducing to vaping (I know of at least 2 people at work who are switching, and more who are just interested).
