I will be lookingover those heavily today. I would also like a link to the 'negative' studies that were specifically quoted by the pocket doctor at the NYC hearing. If possible, I would dearly love to be able to cut these people down with their own axes.

I applauded what you are doing. it is always good to have your arguments based on a thorough knowledge of facts.

However our problem is not negative studies. Most of these studies were not negative. It is the interpretation of these studies by the people against vaping that is negative. Our problem is countering all money and resulting scaremongering that is being put out by our opponents by cherry picking facts and appealing to peoples emotions.

I would also suggest you sign up for Bill Godshaw's tobacco Harm Reduction Updates. Bill is a 20 year anti-smoking advocate who runs SmokeFree Pennsylvania. He's very knowledgeable and knows the major political players. Here is a site that catalogues his updates:

Bill Godshall - Tobacco Harm Reduction Updates

Thanks for the tip, I already follow Bill as he posts here. He and I disagree from time to time, but it's usually about something semantic, so I consider that 'professional debate'. All in all, been very happy with the responses. I am still looking for the names of the studies used in the NYC debate by the opposition (if I know who performed them, I can find them on my own). Other than that, I think I have a nice body of work to begin on, but still welcome any additional contributions.

Bang on the head, here. We can't counter what are effectively bribes. That has always been out of our reach, and I wouldn't want to win on that merit anyways. The fearmongering and cherrypicking ends with this report. An empty-suit pocket doctor gets up to talk about formaldehyde in vape? Make him look like an idiot with his own source material. Wanna talk about heavy metals? Oh, look, a document showing why this finding is not significant / scientifically relavant. Want to lie about carcinogens? Ok, at your fingertips is a report quoting 20 studies saying they either aren't there or aren't there in high enough concentrations to matter. This is about lifting the veil, showing the little men behind the curtain. This is about not having to back down when some 'educated man' spews 'facts' at you.

This is about living free or dying hard, swinging the biggest stick we can get all the way to the grave. I will not give up without a really big fight.

Do you have a Facebook page or blog that I can follow your progress? I truly commend the undertaking you are about to do.

Whereas I do have a FB page, you would never see anything on it other than my wife and I talking about food and people we hate. I log in about once a week to tell people they are idiots and that's it (really hate FB...). I don't have any other sort of thing going like that atm, but I am open to suggestions. Having the progress be public would give me the motivation to continue working on days that I really don't want to or want to find better things to do (I am a slave to my gaming hobby, and I am designing some vape gear prototypes as well).

The Drexel Study linked previously has a bibliography containing all of the studies reviewed.
As far as I know the Drexel Study reviewed the results of every study that has been done to date.

That is probably where you should start and end.

I believe the study with the formaldehyde and metal particles was the Goniewicz study.
That study is listed at number (8) in the bibliography.

If there are any other specific results you are looking for, I can probably point out which study they came from.

Thank you for this information, I will be making heavy use of it. I already maintain a full copy of the U of D study, and will be continuing to expand my library.

As an update, I decided to work on the nicotine section for today (since my client work is slow at the moment) and expect to publish a rough draft for review later this afternoon.

I've got no further info to offer but just wanted to thank you for taking your time and skills to do this. :D

I've been told this is something I have a talent for, and I would feel remiss if i didn't contribute to the cause while asking others to do the same. As an analyst, I watched the goods and bads from the NYC debate and determined this type of thing to be our weakness and their strength, so I figured we needed to address that inbalance before moving on. It's the least I can do.

A very rough draft of my section on nicotine. Attempted to be non-biased and base my information on facts. I will be adding a more professional touch to this soon, as well as adding citations and quotations for the information used. Please comment and give feedback. Suggestions are more than welcome, as I am in the very earliest stages of putting this together, and I know that many changes will be needed before I can approach a final product.

Also, this document is open, so feel free to use it as you will, provided that it is both cited as being a rough work in progress and that credit be given to...well...someone...I guess I don't care if I get any recognition for this, just don't pass it off as your own.

Waiting to hear back.
