I've decided it's time to try a carto-tank, mostly because I'm well stocked on everything else I need. Can you guys help me out?

So I'm definitely buying the tank from IBTanked, so I don't have to worry about having any issues with my cinnamon.

I'm assuming 19 mm is eGo-sized? I like things to look as flush as possible, so I want the diameter of the tank to be close to that of my PV.
Are than any issues using tanks with autos? I prefer not to use my manuals, unless I'm dry-burning or dripping.
I'm an 808 user, so can I use any carto or do I need special ones? I see some sites have cartos with hooks on the bottom. I'd like to punch my own.
The XL cartos from Smokeless Image are 50 mm. Will these fit in an XL tank, or do I need to stick to the standard size?
Besides tank, o-rings, caps, cartos and carto punch is there any equipment that is required? I've heard of the Slap Yo Mama, but do I need it? What does it do?

I'm sure I'll have more questions later.

Thanks in advance. ;)

You can put an 808 carto in a cartotank, and obviously you can put a 510-threaded in also. Cartos have a universal diameter as far as I know. Just be sure to use stainless steel cartos, the ones that are black have a tape like material on them, and it is near impossible to remove it (at least its not worth the trouble).

Also be sure to use a standard length carto (35mm)with a standard length tank, or an XL length carto (45mm) in an XL length tank. The working end of the Smokeless Image XL carto is actually 45mm, so if that is what you plan to use purchase the XL length IBTanked in the 19mm diameter. You'll also need a drip tip, there are some on the IBTanked website.

I don't recommend using a cartotank with an auto battery. Although Smokeless Image advertises that they are sealed, they really aren't totally immune to liquid. Cartotanks are known to drip occassional liquid in the connector end, and this would short out an auto battery.

The IBTanks will come with an extra set of o-rings, no need to buy extra. In six months of using tanks I've never needed to replace even one. The tank accessory tool is an essential tool in my opinion. It is designed to protect the o-rings from tearing or cutting from the top sharp edge of the carto when it is introduced through the endcaps. It also greatly benefits assembly and during filling/re-filling the tank. The following video demonstrates how the tool works:

You said that you have researched tanks, so I assume you've seen the video on how to prime a carto and assemble it into the tank, and how to refill the tank: Electronic Cigarettes 101: Tank Basics - YouTube

If you punch your own cartos, you may need to use some pliers to get them back into round
as much as possible. Depending on how you punch the carto, it will deform to some degree.

I use factory punched cartos, but I ran across some older DC cartos that had the pinholes.
I used a carto punch tool to make the holes bigger. They did not look too deformed but I
gave them a few squeezes with pliers anyways and they still stuck a little when trying to
push into tank. ( it was an IBT tank with SS caps )

IBT's tanks are a little snug ( which is a good thing ). Not only do you want to make sure to use
a tank filler ( one like a SYM from BDV, I wouldn't recommend the funnel type or the delrin
wedge type ), but I would recommend lubing the carto a little the first time you push it in
the tank, and using a slow twisting motion as you push the carto in and when you pull the
tank up to refill.

Something to also think about in regards to an auto battery, sometimes you have to do
a few dry pulls to get the juice flowing better and you can't do that with an auto batt.

FYI - a "dry pull" is when you take a couple of quick hard pulls with out firing your PV.

Good Luck, if you like cartos, then you'll love tanks.
