It's official, I'm a vaper! :vapor: After a few weeks of reading through ECF and watching youtube vids I finally pulled the trigger. I ordered an eGo-C upgrade kit, some spare tanks, a package of low res attys, and an eGo case from Canvape. It arrived yesterday along with a selection of juice from Vapour Solutions. I got 10ml bottles of Timmys ice cap, french vanilla coffee & Captain Black, along with a sample pack of 4x6ml Pink Spot juices all at 24mg nic. I was like a kid at christmas! The batteries came fully charged and ready to go so I loaded up a tank of the french vanilla first and started vaping! The first several drags seemed to taste a little wierd, kind of like a 'burnt' taste even though I primed the atty with a few drops of juice and let it sit upright with the full tank installed to make sure the wick was well saturated. After about 1/3 of the tank the funny taste started to go away and I could properly taste the juice flavor. Yummy!

After only about 1/2 a tank I just had to try another flavor so I loaded up the other unit with some of the Captain Black juice. I love the taste of those things so I was really looking forward to this one. I quickly puffed through about 1/4 of the tank to 'break it in' and like the first flavor the taste started to 'clear up'. Awesome! I definitely like this one better than the french vanilla. IIRC the FV is a 50/50 mix and the CB is a 70/30. Both seemed to give good vapour and were satisfying to inhale/exhale. The throat hit on both is pretty intense, and I think I may need to drop down on the nic level. I kind of over did it last night and ended up with a headache and a bit of nausea from too much nic. I've already ordered some low level juice in the same flavors so I can try mixing and find out what the best nic level is for me. As much as I want to try them all right away, I think I'll vape another tank or two of these two before sampling the other flavors and trying the low res attys.

As of right now, I haven't had a regular cig in 25 hours and don't crave one! The eGo is satisfying both the nic craving and the hand-to-mouth & blowing smoke part I always liked/desired. I would like to thank everyone here at ECF for being so welcoming and providing such a great resource about the world of vaping! :toast: After many prior attempts, I think this is going to be the beginning of the end of burnt plant matter for me. I was never this excited about quitting any of the previous times so I am very hopeful.

A couple of quick questions before this turns into a novel: What is the best way to maintain these attys to get the maximum life out of them? How frequently do they need cleaning? Also I've seen several members with different 'quit counters' (not sure what they're called) in their sig lines and I would like to start one too. How do I get one?

Thanks again ECF! As a wise man once said: "Keep calm and vape on!" :vapor:

Keep the atty's wet. They will overheat and the coil will break if they dry out.

I'll let the frequent drippers advise you on cleaning frequency. I clean them between flavors.

I have no idea how to get a "Quit counter"

I don't know how to clean an atty, not using one.

But I can say you need a lot more posts under your belt to get a banner (a quit counter). Keep posting, young grasshopper. ;)

And I also envy you for going directly to excellent equipment right from the start. I'm still thrashing a bit on which cartomizer to use and what ohm rating to choose and...

Just a quick tip. If you break down and have a few cigs, don't suddenly worry "Oh crap, it doesn't work", because it is natural and most people it seems like smoke a few their first week(I did at least). You will soon find them repulsive in every way and wonder why on Earth you ever began.

You just need 15 posts to gain the ability to set up a sig. As for a quit counter, click on one you like and you'll go to a site where you can create one for yourself.

Get a couple bottles of lower nic than you think you'd like normally; save for when you want to chain-vape but want to avoid chance of overdoing it. At least, it works for me.

Good to hear you're having such a positive transition!

Thanks guys! Just filled up a tank with with root beer flavour and it tastes great! :D I'll try blowing through the atty next time I change one. I think after I have tried all the flavours I've got on the standard res ones I'll try putting a low res atty in one and put the same flavours in both and see how much difference there is.
