Resting IMR Batteries

I have read resting IMR batts before and after charging will prolong their life. The other day I was looking around in Lighthound and noticed in every one of their AW IMR Batts description/specs under "Caution:" they state "Recharge empty batteries ( resting voltage ~3.6V ) as soon as possible. Leaving LiIon batteries in discharged state will incur irreversible damage ( capacity / cycle loss )". I would guess all the caution statements came from the manufacturer (whoever they are but I suspect Panasonic), rather than from Lighthound.

Can someone please shed more light on this?

Don't think there is much more to shed.

1) keep your batteries charged at all times.
2) let rest after charge (not straight from charger into action)

Thats pretty much what I do. I charge them when they come out of the device and they sit in the rotation waiting to go in next time.

I rest the batts right out of a pv for at least 15 minutes before charging. This gives the battery voltage a chance to stabilize and give your charger a more accurate read on the batts before starting to charge. After charging they go back into the rotation. I keep enough batts so that I don't have to use one right off the charger.

Once a cell goes bellow 2.9V it becomes a paperweight.... and is no longer considered safe to charge...
Vaper production is weak at 3.4~3.6v so it is rare that a vaper using a mechanical mod would reach this voltage...

batteries get warm when they are charging/discharging . let them cool down before putting them in your mod or back on the charger.
Excess heat will reduce battery life.

We as vapers treat our batteries very carefully, and forget how much abuse they can actually handle.... thus get scared for no reason.

These warning are there for extreme situations....
I've seen RC cars turn into volcanoes while riding down the track....
and the charge rates that i've had to pump into a 8,000 mAh pack would scare most e-cig enthusiast. lol

Just as long as you stay within the norm of e-cig use, there is nothing to be afraid of, and those IMR's will last a long time....
I still when people tell me stacking loose cells is okay.
