Hey all, just a quick question from me that will be purely a matter of opinion. I have been pretty bad about not smoking lately and have found myself getting back into bad habits. Granted, at my heaviest I was a PAD smoker and by "pretty bad" I mean that I'm having 1-2 cigarettes a day, but I just don't want it to get worse. I never cut out the cigarettes completely and never really intended to even though I've been vaping for two years, but for the last year and change I was only having a cigarette every 4-5 weeks, usually before I got on a plane (lol). Compared to that, even one a day seems like a lot.

I think part of my current issue is that I'm simply bored with my set-up. I do have a Provari (my main PV), a REO Grand, an eGo, a Volt, and GLV2-Mini, but currently I only have access to the Provari and REO and usually I like to switch around more to keep things interesting. I've also basically been using the same type of atties and cartos since two months into my vaping, though I also enjoy tanks (and bottomfeeders).

I'm not in the market for another PV just yet, but I was wondering what your favorite set-ups are. Because I'm not focusing on an actual PV right this moment, I'm more curious about everything else. What tanks do you like? What brand/type of cartos or atties do you use? What's new and exciting and awesome? I'm especially curious about things that are (relatively) recent releases, as I really haven't been around much since the beginning of the year and the e-cig industry does grow fast. I couldn't tell you a single thing that came out new this year.

Also, I do know quite well what kind of juice I like and where to get it so that's not as much of a problem, BUT feel free to let me know what your favorite juice is anyway :)

Anything you could suggest that might make things more enjoyable again, I'm all ears. There are no wrong answers! Thanks so much in advance.

One of many good places to check out new and exciting juice delivery devices (JDD's) is DiscountVapers.com
Clearomizers seem to be the latest and greatest and then all the new rebuildable atomizers seem to be very popular.
I'm not into them, yet, but lots of folks are.

I, personally, love the CE3's.They are small, only hold about 1.3 mls of juice. I have some Kanger T-3's ordered. They hold about 2.5 mls of juice. Both have the coil in the bottom. I like a cooler vape so the bottom coil works for me.

Good luck on finding something to keep it exciting for you.

Thanks for such a quick reply; I'll be sure to look into all of those things.

I have read a bunch about the rebuildable atties, but I know very little about them other than the fact they don't seem that appealing to me. Then again, how could I possibly think they're unappealing seeing as I don't know that much about them? Point is, if you (or anyone else who sees this) knows of anywhere that clearly explains some of the ins and outs of rebuildable atomizers, I would be forever grateful. I'll also do some searching around the forum.

I am seriously considering a Who's Your Daddy? tank as one of the new items, but it's very similar to my Liquinator other than the fact it will be bigger and not polycarbonate. I'm not sure if it's different enough to make the experience feel all that dissimilar to the tank I already own... but I'll probably get it regardless. To be sure, the biggest reason I'm not looking for a PV right now is that I'm planning on spending PV money on accessories lol.

Anyway, thanks again, and congratulations on your very recent one year smoke-free anniversary. :thumb:

EDIT: And, for the record, I feel equally befuddled by Vivi Nova tanks as I do about rebuildable atomizers, although I suppose in a way they're much the same thing. I just don't understand 'em! Makes me feel old :/

For the vivi nova watch this, I'm sure you know Mr Busardo. He talks about them and shows how to clean and rebuild them as well.

As for true rebuildables I've only tried the phoenix it's easy to do. It's a dripping atty that holds like 10 drops good to test flavors or change things up. I want to try a genisis style soon.

I use the Vision Vivi Nova. Both sizes. The thing I love is the ease of use and I can see how much liquid I have in them. The heads (coils and wicks) are easily replaceable or rebuildable. Super easy to clean and dry burn.

A tip for nova users: Polident does a great job on cleaning the heads. Soak a few hours and they are almost as good as new on old heads as long as they aren't gunked up too badly. I use this method about every other cleaning or so depending on how the coils and wicks look. Some juices are harder on heads than other juices.

Wow polident? I've just used to method pbusardo shows on the video I posted. It doesn't leave a mint taste or chemical? Lol dunno what flavors polident comes in.

Great, thanks so much guys-- this is all very helpful already and I really do appreciate it. I am determined not to turn back into a smoker. Well, maybe I already have if I'm smoking every day. But like I said I refuse to let it get any worse and more accurately, want it to get much better.

Fortunately I do have some of my usual fare coming in the mail soon... my normal atties, juices, etc. so that will hold me over for a bit while I continue researching and watching videos. I think part of my problem, too, is that I love of brand new atomizers so much (who doesn't?) that I really have trouble using them for all that long because it's just not satisfying after a while. Every once in a blue moon I'll have a brilliant atty that works like new for weeks upon weeks, but usually they have a pretty short run for me.

I'm also going to look into some DIY joose. There are definitely some flavors I could never, ever give up (Blu-Spot!) but maybe making my own juice for more typical flavors would be a good hobby and certainly keep things interesting for better or worse.

Thanks once again; keep 'em coming! I'm feeling better already about being able to find something or a few things that will remedy my slight lack of interest.

I use denture cleaner too. works best with boiling water.
you will even see flakes of the burned crud in the waste water.
lovely and clean heads!

Wv, I'm using 24mg so I don't really have much more room to go. 36mg makes me sick pretty fast. I could try thinning out a 36mg, possibly, but 24mg did it for me when I first started vaping and eventually cut back to the one cigarette every few weeks, so I do think it's basically a good strength for me. Thank you, though, that was a really smart idea. I would have probably never considered that and it could have easily been contributing to my problems... I just happen to be already using an amount that I think is probably sufficient.

Ok, quick note on RBA's....They are no more complicated then your VCR, you can get really, really technical with them or just ask someone..will send you instructions on how they are made. Its pretty simple though stick with 32 guage Kanthal, the number of wraps dictates the ohms, usually five around a doubled up 2.0mm wick or 3.0 wick will yeild 2.1 to 2.6 ohm.
Installing is just screwing them in to the respective posts, dosen't matter which end of the wire goes where just as long as they are seporated and in to different posts its all good.
Basically an RBA is like the difference between an automatic and stick shift, yah stick is harder to learn but once you got it then you've finer control over what goes on.
Dripping, dripping, dripping...can't stress that enough, play around with that idea, pick up some good atomizers and start to drip. You'll get amazing flavor and may just bring life back in to vaping all together. As I once said " Every time I draw off, its like Mike Tyson punching me in the face with flavor, mouth watering yummy flavor".
Just keep on experimenting..that's all I got for you on this one.

No aftertaste at all. Just rinse them really well! Hey, the stuff is used to clean fake teeth, I figure it has to be ok since the teeth go back in the mouth. ;).

I will have to try the boiling water instead of just hot water. Thanks for that suggestion !! :)

It doesn't sound like it is the nicotine since you are at 24mg. Cigarettes were/are like an "old friend" for many of us. Sometimes it's just psychological. It took me 45 days to quit completely. But back then (2009) the delivery systems were mostly bad and worse. I didn't quit completely until I bought the first "mod" on the market and was down to only about 2 - 4 a day. That got me over the hump along with 24mg nic strength. I'm now at 16mg but doubt I will ever go lower due to the throat hit. Vaping will never be as consistent and hassle free as smoking.

Hang in there.

Don't obsess too much about the 1 to 2 cigarettes a day you're smoking. Think of yourself as a vaper practicing Tobacco Harm Reduction and continue to vape. One day you will light up and gag. For some of us that day happens the first day we vape, for others it happens weeks or months later. Regardless, your cigarette consumption is decreased significantly.

This in itself is reason to give thanks on this Thanksgiving Day! :vapor:

I like messing around with things. You might want to try a rebuildable, especially one with a tank. There are wicks to try, wires to try, and I get pleasure from building one that works so much better than the ones you buy. And the joose tastes so much better on these. This might help hold your interest and keep you away from the stinkies. It does for me. I also like to DIY my jooses. Something else to keep me messing around and interested.

I'm bored lately too. Got my 3 or 4 juices I really like, and all the equipment is working flawlessly. That's what I was striving for and now that I'm there.... Ho hum... Not smoking though so there's a plus. Silly I guess, never bothered me to be bored with cigarettes.

cause cigs are cigs. there's never any new shiny cig waiting at the end of that addtocart button lol

haha true that ^

i also recommend rebuildables. just grab a phoenix clone, some #325 or #400 SS mesh, 100% cotton cheesecloth at a cooking\kitchen store, and some 28g or 32g kanthal. also, get a techdeck fingerboard at walmart/target and take out the mini screwdriver. its perfect for rebuildables. a techdeck is only like 3 bucks. once you have all that, go to youtube and
there are TONS of tutorials on setting up wicks and coils

if you arnt taking the rba route, i strongly recommend ikenvapes 306, and 510 xlr 1.5ohm attys. they are flawless and produce intense TH, flavor, and vapor. when i started dripping i never went back to cartomizers. in fact i have like 5 boxs still that ill never use.

i have faith you will find a setup you truely love and wil be able to quit cigs for good. my last cig was on may 18th and thanks to my commitment to vaping i have never looked back. if i can do it, so can anyone. happy thanksgiving
