vaping will never be as cool as smoking.

I use to love shooting pool or playing cards with a smoke hanging out of my mouth. Can't really do that as smoothly with a PV.

I hate to say it, but the days of the hard drinking, hard smoking man is a thing of the past. Welcome to the age of the PC, ultra sensitive, light beer drinking metrosexual. Ugh.

Where's John Wayne when you need him...

And I hollered bloody blue murder when packs hit $0.35, I'd quit if they went higher. At $0.50 it was criminal, outright thievery.

And now we're paying from $0.35 to $1.00 a ml for liquid. I 'spect these may well be the Golden Days right now.

I could have sworn LSMFT was Lucky Strike Multi-Filter Tips...

Wonder how the FDA will try and stop us from mixing our own 0 mg juice? By outlawing the hardware I suppose but there will always be enterprising individuals that are clever and smart enough to make their own. So then of course they are in effect encouraging a new black market as it did during prohibition. To make your own nic juice I guess you would need tobacco so then you're back to the expense again but your lungs would still thank you!

I still say "follow the money". I do not think the FDA has our best health at heart. How else can they approve a drug like Chantix for ex. Run out naked onto the freeway and get run over by a truck but hey, he/she was quitting smoking don't you know! Sheesh! Same goes for Nicorette... money money money. If we all quit smoking where would the politicians get their money from. Glad to have them out of my pockets, for now...

Wrong... there was a song....

Lucky Strike..... Means Fine Tobacco!

...and man, I remember that my first real budgeting experience came when cigs went over 50 cents! Like, I FINALLY got serious about money!

Damn, the only song I can think of is the Winston jingle

There is also a 'take-off' of LSMFT... loose straps means flo... .... uhhhhhhh not sure I can post that here LOL PM me if you want the rest!

Speaking of tobacco product jingles...

Once, during the 1990's, my ex and I were watching a hockey pre-game show on tv. The announcers were sitting in the arena, discussing the upcoming game. We could clearly hear the music in the background and The William Tell Overture began playing.

Now, my ex was sitting at the computer desk doing something on the desk-top puter and I was located on the sofa, working on my laptop. Without thinking, when the piece of music got to the right spot, I softly sang along, "Have a Lark, have a lark, have a lark today!" And then I got to explain that little ditty to my ex.

My current hubby swears that if I develope Alzheimers, the only thing coming out of my mouth will be a 'collage' of commercial jingles LOLOL <sigh> A good memory can be a curse at times.

Another oldie here who can remember buying my cigs only at the local bus stop station because the "Target" brand packs were only 25 cents. Yep, and a Friday night's cruising downtown could be done on $5 in gas.
BTW, I want to give a big thanks the government and big tobacco. If they hadn't gotten so damn stupid and kicked up the cost of a pack of cigs and then treated them with chemical fire ......ant, I wouldn't be vaping. But alas, I have a strange feeling they are running up behind me to do it all over again.

At 29, I don't feel like I should ever feel old, but then I get out of bed and my knees hurt, things are cracking I didn't think are supposed to crack, I walk around the house for a while getting my knees back working like they should, and man, I just feel old. Then I jump online and see posts like this and the ones before, and realize, I'm a young, young man. LOL

Cigs were $1.70 a pack at a convenience store or $12 a carton at the local smoke shop when I started. I remember saying I'd NEVER pay over $20 a carton for smokes. Okay, with current prices, I'm back to feeling old.

Thanks everyone... you have really managed to make me feel old.

Dredging up memories of $0.50 packs, LSMFT, Larks, Marlboro man, cigarette machines, home decor items that included ashtrays and lighters, my doctor puffing on a cigar as he listened to my heart, "not a cough in a carload" claims... my god. Was all of that in my lifetime? Wow.

I love some of the thoughts and impressions of vaping in the future though! Makes me feel young again!
