As the title says, I'm returning to the e-cigarette community (and e-cigarettes) after a few years. I first joined here back in 2009 when the market was really just getting started. I think, maybe, I might be able to call myself and 'early adopter', but I didn't stick with it and went back to smoking analogs.

My first e-cig was a Vapor4Life Vapor King. It wasn't/isn't a bad unit for beginners, but not a great unit either. In the end, I kind of got frustrated with all the 'stuff' I had to carry around (extra batteries, charger, extra carts, passthrough, etc) and the overall inconvenience of it all just to make it through a normal work-day. Plus, and this may sound strange, I really MISSED smoke breaks! I had no need, anymore, to get away from my desk at work and actually go outside for a cigarette ...so, I simply stopped taking breaks. It made for a long day.

Recently, I have been diagnosed with Type II diabetes. As a result, I've had to change pretty much everything about my lifestyle - eating habits, exercise, being tied to a glucose meter, etc ...so, I figured, I might as well try to change my 'smoking' habit as well. Like many of you, I've tried to quit analogs several times in the past, but failed for one reason or another (for me, it's typically been just the 'habit' of smoking). Obviously, I have no illusions that e-cigs will help me quit ...and, to be honest, I don't want to quit - I LIKE smoking and, believe it or not, smoking (nicotine) HELPS me curb my appetite and stay on the diet I have to be on to manage my blood sugar. For me, it's all about the THR at this point.

So, this week, I pulled the trigger on an ala carte SmokelessImage Volt X2 650 setup (still on order). I like how these can be used as both a stand-alone and a pass-through (no need to carry a separate passthrough, charger, etc), which I can use at my desk at work where I spend the majority of my time. I'll still need to carry some extra 'stuff', I'm sure, but (I'm hoping) it is minimal. I ordered the CE3 clearomizers, 3 different juices I know I like, two of the X2 650 batteries, the X2 carrying case, as well as all 3 sampler packs of carts that SI has available. This should - I think - get me started. I know the common theory is to start with the 78mm minis first, but I feel like I've already gone down that road and it didn't work for me.

Well, just wanted to introduce myself ...again. Thanks for the great resource on vaping!

Welcome and congrats on the return. I hope that this time it will work. I think the vaping world has changed a lot and there are a lot of different options out there now so that a person who smokes can find the perfect combination of devices, bats, juices, etc. that works for them. I also thought that I wouldn't be able to quit smoking analogs, but once I started trying "off" flavored juices (non-tobacco flavored), I quit within 2 days. The smell of someone smoking makes me sick now. I also found that smoking was a habit feeling because when I first quit, I felt like I was forgetting to do something in the times that I would normally smoke. Since we used to smoke in the garage I would go out to the garage at first to vape so that I felt like I didn't forget to do anything and now I have no problems. I hope that what you got will be sufficient and help in your journey.

Welcome back - I'm in the same boat, tried a few years ago with a 510 setup and just got frustrated over all the extra batteries, cartridges, charging case, the mess, the low power after the first 5-10 hits...blah.

Started up again early this month with an Ego-type setup and had quit smoking within a week or so, so far still going strong. The difference in today's technology vs. a few years ago is night and day, you're going to love it!
