OK...I decided to post this as I think it may be helpful to 801 users. I have had intermittent problems with flooding, burnt taste, hard draw, and atomizer premature death. In retrospect, I think I was getting flooded too often. I should add that I am using JC new stuff...it's seems pretty thin to me. After draining the 801 overnight, things seemed great...for a while. Then back to hard draws/burnt taste/etc.
The technique that I found is very simple. It lets me use more drops (4-5), improves draw, makes for a more moist, flavorful, and consistent vapor. I suspect that it will prolong atomizer life..at least in my case.
So on with it....I just do my dripping, then take a few hard draws/puffs/tokes without depressing the button. I think this clears the air channels in the atomizer and makes for a better vape. Then, either after every 1-2 draws (real ones...with the button depressed), I again draw hard once or twice, without the button depressed. This seems to keep the air channels clear.
Sounds silly...works great for me. It has improved my vaping experience 100%. Give it a shot!
