OK...I decided to post this as I think it may be helpful to 801 users. I have had intermittent problems with flooding, burnt taste, hard draw, and atomizer premature death. In retrospect, I think I was getting flooded too often. I should add that I am using JC new stuff...it's seems pretty thin to me. After draining the 801 overnight, things seemed great...for a while. Then back to hard draws/burnt taste/etc.

The technique that I found is very simple. It lets me use more drops (4-5), improves draw, makes for a more moist, flavorful, and consistent vapor. I suspect that it will prolong atomizer life..at least in my case.

So on with it....I just do my dripping, then take a few hard draws/puffs/tokes without depressing the button. I think this clears the air channels in the atomizer and makes for a better vape. Then, either after every 1-2 draws (real ones...with the button depressed), I again draw hard once or twice, without the button depressed. This seems to keep the air channels clear.

Sounds silly...works great for me. It has improved my vaping experience 100%. Give it a shot!

I've done this on my Kissbox atty's in my PV. I haven't done a lot of research on it yet, but I suspect there is a reservoir holding liquid down below the coil that wont vaporize, and by doing this you're pulling the liquid back up where the atomizer can vaporize it. I can usually get a few extra puffs of vapor after I get the dry atty flavor by doing this.

I was having similar problems. Here's what I did. I reduced my drip's from 3-4 to 2-3, and I stopped dripping right on the atomizer bridge. Now I drip it down the side of the atty. I haven't flooded an atty since, the flavor seems to last longer, and I rarely ever have juice accumulation between the atty and adapter.

Give mine a shot and I'll do the same for yours.

Simple, obvious, duh.......now why the HE11!!! didn't I think of that!!

Had JUST that problem today, all day, with my JS/801 and was really getting ticked.

I usually pull off the cart and draw right off the atty but WITH the button pressed. Takes 4-5 long, head spinning draws but eventually gets the pipe cleaned.

Sitting here now, reading your post and tried it - marvelous, simply marvelous.

Thanks!

It works not just for clearing the atty when it feels clogged, but keeps it drawing "free" by preforming a strong draw, without the button depressed, every couple of real draws. No more gurgle...it's pre-gurgled! I have noticed that doing this, I have to "preheat" the atty for about 1 second before a real draw to get that nice, moist, tasty, voluminous vapor....there, is that enticing enough?! I'm using the high bridge, DSE801 atty from PS. I'm stoked! :D

I get this whenever i use JC, i just have so much of the dang stuff, i don't want it to go to waste. Now Steve is stocked so i have a bunch of his as well, dang! I have been cutting the PS juice with JC just to get it gone, haha. JC gives you all the symptoms described in this post. I used just PS juice for 3 weeks on a single atty, and had ZERO problems.

Just my take..

100% correct. I'd not thought of this but saw it earlier today and damn but it works. Easiest way to get rid of "crap" I've seen. Atty that was giving me fits is now drawing like a champ.

Yup. (Prodigy here but same results)

Someone should publish a book. "The Art of Vape" ... Haha

Please?!

I have these issues using JC VG which I love. I'm switching back to PG (several on order from PS) which I have not had an issue with. JC PG I AM going to try though.

I've gotten a lot of GOOD tricks and tips from these fora but this has to be one of the best I've gotten so far. Thanks.

There is a bit of space between the atomizer and the thread connection portion of the atomizer. They are two parts, pressed in, and attached by wires. And yes, juce can pool in that area and block the vent holes of an 801.

Thanks for the great tip! I have found so many great tips here on the forum but this is one of the best by far. I use both DSE801 and BE112 attys. This technique works great on both.

I also tried dripping down the side of the atty and this works great too. Since I have been dripping like this I have no more burnt taste... ever. It also seems to make the vapor richer. Thanks for this tip too.

I always put my atty thread side up in a shot glass with a paper towel in the bottom at night. I now give my atty a shot of canned air before I put it in the glass. More juice drains out than before and the atty seems to be much cleaner.

lets recap:

dripping down the sides is good. The atty is surrounded by a "moat" of juice, when you drip down the side in three equal spots along the top of the atty tube, you help the juice go straight into the moat instead of going thru the bridge and ozing down to the moat! The vape does taste better because the fresh juice get to the heat sooner.

a ring of juice - your wasting juice. Your not getting a good burn. Your over fueling the atty somehow. Maybe your topping off too often and you just need to slow down and let the wick work. When you turn it upside down, you just drained your prime out of the atty, you don't need to do that every night. Parking the atty threads down would allow for excess juice to drain off and and not drain the prime.

power off for two seconds near the end of a hit- YES, do it, there should be no loose vape trailing out after you take your mouth off the device, all vape should be in your mouth.

removing the ring - there is a small ring (black, white, chome) that can be removed to increase the air flow into the atty

all juice burns differently, thats why everybody gets different results

the 801 has a harder, firmer draw but it is a full vape.

weak batt power causes gunk, gunk comes from incomplete juice burns

There's that ring again you wrote about before. Can you take a picture of what you're talking about? I believe what you are saying...I just can't figure out what you're talking about. Thanks, --Lucy

sorry, it's true, I heard about removing the ring right here to increase the air flow, when you take it off, the body of the pv is gold...so I increase the air flow and get a nice gold band instead of black, white or chrome...yes, it's an 801 atty from ruyan and they are three months old...every 801 atty I own has the removable ring but you have to ruin it to get it off....the ring is destroyed during removal.

somebody posted this 'puffing without pressing button' trick on the forum about a month ago, i tried it and it worked great.
I always take a first drag with no button pressed before every real drag.
This way it seems the coil gets always wet producing dense and tastfull vapor.
It helps reducing burnt taste too.
If you're using carts just be careful to not overfill them cause you might suck juice in your mouth after the fake drag.
