Disclaimer: Obviously flavor is hugely subjective, also I only care for the flavour, getting my nicotine and the hand-to-mouth action. I couldn't care less about throat hit or vapor production.
Menthol PG - (Volt blank with Volt batt and Boge carto on 510 batt) I LOVE this! It's not a menthol tobacco (although you could add a few drops into a carto loaded with tobacco juice to get that flavour) but more an intense crown mint, sinus-clearing taste. I NEVER smoked menthol cigarettes but this is a daily vape for me! Did I mention I LOVE THIS juice??
Menthol VG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) I like this flavour in VG just as much if not more, it's a softer billowy creamier take on the flavour compared with the PG. I have bought 30ml of this and 30ml of the PG as I know it will be a long-term favourite.
Strawberry PG - (Volt blank with Volt batt) this is not a fresh strawberry taste, or even a candy taste, it's a strawberry jam type taste. The taste is remarkable, I wasn't a fan but my partner was.
Vanilla PG - (Kanger carto on Volt batt, also Boge cart on 510 batt) beautiful bright and slightly sparkling vanilla flavour. Gorgeous! This will be a daily vape for me for sure! I think it will be even better in VG (creamier), after getting through my 10ml sample in about a week and a half I've bought 30ml PG and 30ml VG.
Red Cola PG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) very enjoyable cola flavour, not quite as strong as the Premium Ecigarette cartos but still has that nice tangy taste that reminds me of my childhood love for "sour cola bottle" lollies/candy.
Butterscotch PG - (Boge carto on 510 batt, also frankenvaporizer made of Volt batt with 808-510 adapter and Boge 510 carto) What is it with butterscotch e-juice? It seems quite temperamental in my limited experience. On the 510 batt it basically didn't seem to work, made me cough and gag but didn't make much vapor? On the 808-510 frankenvaporizer it works much better but still there is something wrong. Much less wrong than the Hanseng butterscotch I also tried (and which was binned immediately) but still not an enjoyable experience like the above flavours. I gave it a good try but it made me feel nausious in the end, butterscotch is obviously just not for me. *Update* - tried it again and it was a little better a few days later, then while enjoying it got a bit of sidestream vapor up my nostrils and it burned!! Damnit, I guess no butterscotch for me
I may try it in VG though to see if it works better for me.
Rasberry PG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) First Dekang flavour I disliked on taste alone, the actual rasberry taste is weak and after the initial raspberry type flavour there is an overtone which is a bit soap like (assume this is the taste people describe as 'purfumey'. Very "meh".
Mango VG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) A bit candy-ish (hubby didn't like his because of that) but true enough to the intended flavour - I think it's delicious! With the VG it is a little creamy too, I think it would be much different in PG. A sweet and deep taste which is strong enough but not overpowering. I like it!
Watermelon VG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) Quite true to the intended taste, I think it would be better in PG though to get a crisper taste that matches better with the crispness of the watermelon flavor.
Dr Pepper PG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) Not too much to say on this one. It tastes like Dr Pepper! It will only be an occassional flavour for me, just too sweet or something, but of you LOVE Dr Pepper you should enjoy this one.
Licorice PG - (Boge carto on 510 batt) It's true to the flavour but not very strong or rich, I think if it were a bit richer and treacle-ish I would be fonder of it. Somehow the flavour seems lacking a little something, but it isn't bad. It may improve with steeping maybe? Maybe VG would be a better choice for this one?
My take on PG vs VG based juices - So far my recommendation would be that if the flavour is intended to be creamy or dense in any way VG would be better while if the flavour is intended to be bright or sparkling then PG would be the way to go. The base liquids do definately influence the flavour. However, I'm still new to all of this so I'd love to hear others opinions who are more experienced.
