Just got my "KING II Style Mechanical mod Stainless Steel" in the mail yesterday. The cost was $16.25 ($23.05 after shipping) from KING II Style Mechanical Mod Stainless Steel

AngelCigs is a Chinese company, however, this mod was shipped from AngelCig's warehouse in California, so it only took a few days to get it to my door in Florida.

I am thinking that this has to be one of the better deals around as far as clones go. In fact, I am going to use this clone as a replacement for a fasttech "Caravela" clone I have been using. I have no idea who actually makes this clone, as it came in just a plain black box that was labeled "MOD" in big white letters.

The photo on the AngelCig's website shows that this mod has the #IMPROOF script on the tube ... but it in fact did not have the #IMPROOF script on it.

If you are interested in a knurled King II stainless clone, AngelCigs is now out of stock, but I am betting that they will be getting more in soon. They do have a bunch of other clones on there website that are cheap too. You might want to check them out.

Here it is with an authentic Kayfun Lite-Plus mounted on top ... It is in the 18650 configuration with a Kick module along with an 18500 battery installed.
It will stand up straight and not accidently fire while standing upright even without the bottom locking ring set because the fire button is recessed just enough. The heavy knurling on this mod make it easy to remove the upper and lower caps, no matter how tight the are installed.

I have just a slight gap between the tube and the lower cap that can be adjusted out, but at least I get no battery rattle, resulting in a poor electrical connection.

Theading is nice

Fire button ... I may just sand off that BS "Made in the USA" and the "Surefire Vapor" Logo ... Kinda goes against my grain!

Adjustable 510 pin connector. I modified this with a couple of black washers to get the correct adjustments to eliminate battery rattle. Once the screws / pins are tightened down (against the washers), this eliminates the screws from ever loosening or tightening on there own.

It looks fantastic, and thanks for the pictures but this confuses me:

You bought a clone with your eyes wide open, so who are you trying to fool?

Don't get me wrong, I have a couple of clones in my collection and love them both so obviously I don't have anything against folks who buy clones. But I don't get why someone would buy a clone "that kinda goes against" their "grain". You liked it enough to buy it, so who cares? Sanding off the button doesn't chsnge the fact that you bought a Chinese knock-off.

Your right ... It's still a clone whether or not I remove the logos.

The more I look at it though, I just don't like the Made in the USA on it when in fact, it was made in China.

I still like clones because there cheap ... However, I may sand off all the images on it like I did my Caravela clone.

I bought this clone because of the quality (for the price), and because I liked the knurled end caps ... I did not buy it for the logos ... but there easily removed.

That's cool. It's your mod to enjoy however you please. I have to admit that it looks really great for the money.

Surefire didn't have a moral delimma when they made the first king.
They knocked off mojo, and cloned the chi you, added their logos and octagon shaped rings.

Enjoy your mod guilt free.
Would you feel better if you paid $240 for a "legit" metal tube?

According to your logic/view then, Mojo cloned a steel plumbing pipe and added some engravings and end caps....

Yep.
That's exactly what I'm saying.
Actually he cloned the first flashlight mod, slapped logos on a steel tube and charged a couple hundred bucks for it.
It's a the wade tube and a simple Horn switch
Show a legit Chi-You mod to your plumber and tell him the price....he deserves a good laugh.

Well, since my "King" review thread has now turned into a clone vs authentic thread, here is how I look at it.

If a cheap clone don't perform as good, or look almost as good as the original, I will by the original every time.

If a cheap clone performs as good, and looks almost as good as the original, I will buy the clone every time just to save money.

In my case .... That Kayfun Lite Plus setting on top of my King clone is authentic SvoëMesto. I paid $110 for it because the Chinese $25 Kayfun clone I had before was a POS (it went in the trash along with empty beer cans)

However, in this case, I am not paying $230 for an authentic knurled King II from Surefire Vapor because the $23 Chinese clone I now have performs as good as the original, and looks almost as good.

Good that you enjoy your purchase. It's a damn fine mod.
The reason the thread drifted is you original discussion about your issue with the "made in the USA" logo.
