DAMN-IT! :( Well, being one of the first to buy these, I guess I should be the first to test it's durability...I stupidly put my Ultra in my front dress shirt pocket...bent down to pick up something in my car...Ultra slipped out and I guess hit RES first onto concrete. Maybe a 2 foot drop? IDK. Innovapor guys, I don't see how I can yet buy a replacement wick/Top part to the RES. The RES body looks like it survived, except for a few small nicks near the threads. Ugh, I'm so mad at myself. I'm really bumming now cause I can't use it now. Can I super glue the wick you think? Probably not a good idea. Here is a picture of it. .....

...I'm a chain-vaper that takes fairly long draws (at least 8-10 seconds, 3-4 times in a row). With that vaping style, the RES can't really keep up when using a Joye 1.5Ω atty. The first two pulls will produce massive amounts of flavor and vapor, but the next few draws results in a dry atty taste. I did notice that taking some long slow pulls without activating the switch will allow you to get more juice into the atty, and that seems to help a lot. I also tested the RES out with a Boge 2.0Ω cartomizer, and I feel as though it performs much better with that setup. Use of a cartomizer also provides an airier draw than a Joye atty, but I actually prefer the tighter draw.

I feel compelled to print a retraction on this previous comment that I made in my review of the UltraMax RES. I received some Ikenvape LR atties in the mail today. Maybe it's because my other 510 atties were getting old or maybe it's because it took me a couple days to get over the learning curve of a new type of system...but I'm not getting a single dry hit anymore! 3-4 consecutive 8-10 second pulls, and the last puff tastes just as good and produces just as much vapor as the first. I stand corrected, and damn me for ever doubting the engineering behind the RES

Note to self, do not drop Apex when it arrives. Sorry that happened to yah Aldynamite. Sorta the same thing happened when I got my darwin, dropped it and it was toast.

Eh, what can ya do. I learned a valuable lesson today, always stow my Ultra in my side pocket by my wallet. Dang dang dang.

So true. Again, Innovapor and Apex Vapor come through. Like I said, I'm a customer for life. They got me all set up and I'll have it asap. Thank goodness, I need it 3 hours ago lol.

BTW- I got my new switch in today and the unit is twice as easy to activate, so amazing! Thank you guys so much for dropping that in express mail, seriously going above and beyond for the customer. Best customer service I have experienced in over 3k of spending money on vaping units/supplies. Rock on baby

Glad it made it to you fast and your Alpha is running how it is supposed to. Customer service is the core of our business and it is the single most important thing we do day in and day out. Having customers appreciate the effort we put into taken care of them is what it is all about.

BTW, had to watch the review again... this time with my own Rum and Coke, it was even better!

Cheers,

SH

The Ultra Main Body! ... I jumped on it last week when I found that they were longer on average and the new sleeves are done and being packaged for shipment as I write this. Yes!

I received my new main body (plus extra goodies!) and it works like a charm with the protected 14500s.

I was more than satisfied before and now I'm thoroughly pleased! Thanks, guys!

Your welcome. Glad you are happy with it. Make sure you keep the old main body for when you are using the IMR 14500s, that way you don't have to push the switch up the extra 1/16 inch.

Outstanding, glad to hear it. I am working on putting individual Alpha parts on the site, so that people who got a replacement sleeve could build a second Ultra at a fraction of the price (of course it would only work with High Drain IMR 14500's).

Here is the link to the individual parts:
Alpha Electronic Cigarette Replacement Parts

You would need the:
1. battery sleeve.
2. either a standard ultra interface with switch or a RES with Interface and switch.

That's it and then you have a second Ultra.

SH

Got it today! And i am really impressed with this mod! Fist off the finish. I was worried about the nickel finish. It is more of a brushed nickel finish. Not the finger print magnet i thought it would be. Now the Design is ingenious at best! Super light weight and very small. The switch is an ease to use. The RES is brilliant! It's not like a tank system IMO. I think of it more like a reservoir or sponge. After filling it as told by the directions.10 drops wait a few minutes . Then repeat. Until 40 drops was in. I got about 30 minutes of heavy vaping before i had to top it off again. In between pulls every now and then i would do a dry pull. This seems to help suck juice from the ceramic in the RES. The taste and throat hit are incredible. O i almost forgot! The packaging was very professional! With a complete instruction manual! I will follow up i a few days! Maybe more I got my new GG UFS today as well!:p And OMG it is awsome:2cool:
