I've been using the IGO-L exclusively (all day every day) for about 3 months now. It's an amazing little piece of vape hardware, especially when paired with a mech mod. Amazing vape, simple setup, and near bulletproof. I've tried SS, silica, cotton, hemp, the hemp and cotton give the best performance, with the hemp sliiiightly winning out IMO, mostly because it's more resistant to burning.
Typically I use a 4 wrap coil around a 1/16" drill bit using Kanthal 28ga wire (which come out between 0.5 and 0.7 ohms) and wick with 36lb hemp cordage.
A week or so ago, I needed to order more wire, so I bought a few new types to try, after sticking strong with the 28 for months.
Kanthal A1 26ga
Kanthal A1 0.8mm x 0.1mm ribbon
Nichrome 60 0.0625" x 0.0035" ribbon
I only got it a few days ago, and have wrapped one coil with the Kanthal .8 x .1 ribbon, which is running at 0.7 ohm. The vape seems to be about par with my standard 28ga coils.
Can I see what ribbon wire setups (or even 26ga setups) people are running here? The whole SLR RDA thing is absolutely fantastic, and puts all other vaping to shame as far as I'm concerned. I'm hooked, and can't see myself using anything else!
I'd love to see some other SLR dripper coils, ribbon wire setups especially. Anyone care to share?
