Ribbon wire.. DO IT

I am simply amazed by this stuff. Great resistance to hotspots, easy to coil, and not to mention it looks damn good. Try it out if you get a chance, I feel like I've found the Holy Grail of wire.

Just got 100' in of 30 gauge Regular kanthal, and I'm never going to touch it.


Got the wire from a friend, but I believe it is .8 Ribbon Kanthal, it is 1.7 Ohm with a 6/5 Wrap

Have to agree. Hot wrapped a coil with 0.5m on a ceramic yesterday and this wick is simply sensational. It is great stuff!

ebay seems to be the only place to get it and it's overseas .. i really do wish vendors would carry this stuff i would love to try it myself. has anyone been able to find a us vendor or wire shop ?

Just like you, only place I've seen is eBay. I want to order some, just don't know whether I should get 0.6, 0.7, 0.8mm...

I use my AGA-T2 with 28g right now, so I'm guessing I should go with 0.8mm
