I got my Blue/Wrinkled Black Reo Grand in the mail yesterday. (Pics to follow as soon as I get my crappy camera to work)

How did I come up with the name "Ricky" you ask? Thanks for asking. The Blue door matches the color of my Harley almost perfectly. Her name is Lucy so Ricky was an obvious choice, right?

My multimeter is not here yet and I'm not sure if I can thread the wire through that tiny hole on the RM2. I'm going to give it a shot before I throw myself on Rob's mercy. I have some brass drill bits that I use to convert natural gas orfices to propane that might work.

I have decided to ask Santa for a solid white Grand for Christmas so I can switch the doors around.

Do NOT make a coil and use the RM2 until you check the ohms! You might not be lucky and end up with a short and collapsed spring. Can't say what the odds are that you will be fine. I just know a few people have had a short with new REO's because of a RM2 that was not ohm checked.

When you can check ohms also make sure the screws are tight in the posts. They do frequently loosen.

Yes, I'm waiting on my ohm meter to get here before I even attemp coil making. I've never done it before, but I've watched a bunch of "how-to's" and will certainly be reviewing them again.

Nice, I got my black wrinkle silver vein yesterday as well. I used a micro drill bit, can't remember which size, but it worked well, took about a minute to do.

So far no shorts, I do check ohms on my vamo or svd, which ever is closest.

The micro coil is one of the easiest to make. You don't have to worry about even spacing, and wicking is so easy with cotton. Once you make a couple coils and get comfortable with the process, you'll be one happy reonaut.

I use a 1/16th bit with 28 gauge kanthal, usually doing 12-16 wraps depending on how cool I want the vape to be (more coils, cooler vape).

Take the bit and grab one end of the wire and hold it inline against the bit. Take the other end and start wrapping around the bit, putting tension on the wire as you do. The closer you get the wraps to each other, the easier it will be later on. Once you have the amount of wraps on there that you want, bend the legs of the wire so they are perpendicular to the bit, facing in the same direction. I like to remove the coil and pinch together with some needle nose pliers, then apply heat to the coil, this will keep the coils in place and resist separating from each other.

place the coil back on the bit and attach to the rm2, ohm test, wick, juice up and enjoy.

I know there are a lot of post about making micro coils, I just figure I put my experience and what works for me here for you.
