In this day with the ever so rising popularity of complex builds (claptons, fused claptons, alien wire etc...) why are atty designers still making attys with small ... postholes that are even a hassle to get dual twisted builds into? I understand that not everyone wants the flux alien gigareactor build but by making small post holes you're eliminating potential customers. Why not just make the post holes nice and large so you satisfy a larger market, I've never heard of someone who only runs basic builds complain about post holes being to big. Was looking at the Vortice and this came to mind.

I think the complex builds are becoming more popular with a small subset of the vaping population but I don't think the average vaper is busting out alien wire in his/her atty. That being said, there's no reason why the atty makers couldn't just make the post holes bigger anyway. As you said, it's not going to affect my simple build and it'll give others that go beyond simple the option for tons of builds.

Actually oversized post hole can be a pita too...I have an authentic el cabrone and mutation v4 both have big post holes and on both you have to pay close attention to having the legs centered up before tighten down the post screws because they have a tendency to get wedged between the post and screw off to the side leading to bad connections and jumpy ohms.... so they sit on my build table collecting dust...while I build my tugboats derringer and vector....
