I started out with a Riva Starter kit from Liberty flights and was absolutely thrilled. One of the batteries started dying about 2 months in so I ordered a Riva SE kit since both the standard kit and batteries were out of stock. Although this kit was nice as well, the batteries never seemed as strong and the attys never vaped as good as the originals. Also, these batteries did not have the 3-click shutoff so putting it in my pocket was a bad idea. The second battery with shut-off has died so now I'm really stuck. Now it seems they've changed their kits altogether, so I don't know what to order now to get the same equipment as my original setup.

I basically just need a good 510 battery with a shut-off function. I feel like the batteries are really what's holding me back right now, since I've tried various attys, cartos, and dripomizers since and none of them are the same great hits I was getting with the originals.

Yeah... sounds like you're looking for "Oomph" factor. That's voltage. Don't feel bad BTW, battery tech is holding several entire industries back... phones, cars, computers, e-cigs. lol.

I 2nd the eGo Twist, or if fixed voltage, one that is 3.7 volts (like the Riva is supposed to be. IDK why the two models performed differently). Also, if the form factor doesn't bother you you can try an e-power (for example) with swappable batteries and and external charger. Then you only have to swap out $5.00 batteries when they die and/or replace a $12.00 switch. You can have a stack of batteries on hand...and most chargers charge 2 batteries at a time.

Then, like Nomo said, there's vv. Now, that's in several form factors... usually bulkier. The eGo Twist is the smallest vv that I happen to know of. Many of the other VVs take swappable batteries tho, so you don't have to take the unit out of commission while charging. But they are bigger. The new LT and it's cousins are interesting too. And they have a readout on them.

Those that are vv and have a single swappable battery with an external charger often require high-drain batteries. So check the specs.

Cool thanks for the tips.

Does the VV have shut-off? That wasn't mentioned.

Honestly, the new batteries aren't terrible, I miss the shut-off more than anything.

All the VVs mentioned have shut off. If you're speaking specifically about the twist it's shutoff works the same way as the standard ego. Press the button several times (I think 4 or 5) and it's off, repeat and it's back on.

Thanks for the advice! I ordered the Smok Tech Black EGO 650mAh - Carto kit from LF. Hopefully this cures my concealed carry problem and it also comes with a case, which I don't currently have, so that's a plus. I'll post again when it arrives and I get a chance to play with it. :)

The VV sounds interesting, but I'm about to go on vacation, so I just need something portable and reliable for the next week or two. Once these batteries need replacement I might have to give the VV a try. It is interesting, two Riva batts ordered at the same time and one gives pretty solid hits and good flavor and the other seems to always taste burnt with the same atty and liquid.
