? Riva/Ego Band

I have only Rivas and while I'm thrilled with the battery life the gold band rubbed down to ugly super fast. Now I know the batts will not last forever anyhow, but I kinda wanted to have these as a 'pretty' ecig when I went out. So my question is this - does anyone have both Riva and Ego? Does the silver band on ego wear off just as quick?

Can't answer your question about the eGo since I have a Riva, but how long did it take for your gold to rub off?

I've had my Riva about a week.

I have had the same 2 Ego batteries since August and the band still looks good as new.

The ring on the egos are silver....mine has held up good...no signs of scratches or fading.

Good to hear - I did order a couple ego batts today. I liked the silver better than the gold anyhow - I just bought what was cheaper at the time

I've had 3 Rivas since the beginning of August and they all look as good as the day I got them including the gold band, still shiny and gold and I keep them all in rotation or in use at the same time with different juices. Odd that yours started to wear so fast. If you've gotten juice or something else on them that might be the cause, only thing I can figure.

That's what I was thinking, too, something was on her fingers that started eating the plating away.

Oh I'm sure some juice has been on it however I think its pretty obvious its where I contact with my fingers. A very small ring around the button is still as gold and shiny as ever (where the button keeps my skin from touching it. Maybe I'm a chemical mutant LOL I know we all have different chemical makeups(ya know how different people smell so different with the same perfume on) so maybe its just me

We have four Rivas in our house. Three look brand spanking new and one has started to get dingy around the button. I'm thinking about taking some Brasso to it to see if that will clean it up a bit.

I've alternated two Riva's daily for about 6 weeks with no noticible cosmetic deterioration.

I've had my Rivas for about a month, and the bands are all losing the plating where I touch them, so it's not just you AmyLynne. Or at the very least, we are BOTH mutants... ; )

OK, for the heck of it, I used some "never dull" polish on the worst of the batteries, to see what would happen. The "gold" ring is now silver, except for a bit around the button! So I guess my fingers WERE eating through the plating! But it looks nice and shiny now, so it's all good.

OOh, I've got to try that at some point, as I hate the gold on the Riva's! I prefer my silver eGO's

It's in the auto department at Wal-mart. Comes in a tin. It's like cotton batting with "stuff" in it, you just use a little piece of it. Great for cleaning chrome car/motorcycle parts as well, and a tin lasts FOREVER.

I have been using 2 egos and 2 rivas since around the end of July. The bands on all 4 are still bright and shiny as the day I got them. And I use them heavily every day.
