Maybe this has already been posted but thought I would let those fairly new to the rm2 know what I discovered today... I have two rm2s and during my re wicking today accidentaly put the top piece on its wrong partner and was going crazy because I couldn't get the air hole to line up with the wick... Once I figured out what was going on switched my top piece with the other rm2 and perfection.

Is this true ? The top piece and base are "married" by Rob before leaving the factory? Lol or do I just have two special rm2s?

If my top cap is married to it's base, how long before I have little RM2's running around?

haha, they are married and already have children, but you have to order the children separately from the REO-mod-Wizard. He got it all covered in his REObook of Magic Spells. Or better known as: Married With Children

Anyone who doesn't understand why I like hanging around here obviously has no sense of humor! LOL

Oh you'll never have that. The married RM2's have their litter of RM2's before they leave the nest. Some have said the little RM2's drive the married ones crazy and they have to move out. Gee how do you think we get these anyway? The Married ones are smart and never make that mistake again.

But you know what they say about kids when they move out. ~~ They'll be back and they'll bring more with them.

This has already been answered for sure. I have only five RM2s, four Brass and one Chrome. I usually boil them once a month or so. And, yes, they are "married." I set a small tea strainer in boiling water and boil each RM2 individually and then set them, base and cap together, to dry on paper towel. I imagine someone like Trunker, 11 RM2s, last I heard, has to be especially careful to keep them "married." Oh, and yeah, about half the time I'm rewicking cotton, after dryburn, I run cap, with DT still attached, under hot water, blow out, and then finish with paper towel inside to get gunk out. I do only one at a time. Keeps life simple.
