Hello, REOfam.

Any input would be appreciated. I won't be able to post again after this post, so I will read responses tomorrow.

My RM2, all of a sudden, any coil I wrap with any wicking media tastes like a dry hit, even when I know the wick is saturated. Tried 28 and 24 gauge kanthal. Tried different resistances. Tried cotton, readyxwick. I am pretty sure it's not my builds, but the atty itself. I just took it apart and am soaking it overnight in water. Only the post nearest the squonk hole unscrewed out. The other post is super tight and I didn't want to muscle it loose. Unscrewed the ceramic deck and have it all soaking.

Anything else I should look for before putting it back together tomorrow night? Any reason I would be getting burnt, harsh dry hits all of a sudden?

Thanks alot, guys. Good thing I just got my second rm2 yesterday!

Before you assemble it pour some vinegar on it. Then rinse well.

Once it is coiled, watch as you squonk and hold the bottle till the coil is covered. Release and let it soak in for a little bit before trying it.

Making sure that your squonking is giving the coil enough juice sounds like the problem to me. I have had it happen and when I pulled off the tip and watched I found I needed to hold the squonk a little longer.

The new bottles that came with the rebuild kit are proving to be a challenge. They are not as soft and require a harder and longer push.

Thanks, all. Yeah, I squonked with the drip tip off on each of the coil builds and my coil was absolutely saturated each and every time. The problem didn't have anything to do with a dry wick, that's for sure. Regardless, it's all better now. Don't really know why. I soaked the parts to the RM2 for an hour in water and then flushed each well, then dried each well. Put it back together, wrapped a coil and back to normal. Not sure what was happening, but I say if the RM2 is acting up in any way, take it apart, clean and put back together. This holds true for many things mechanical.

Ahhhh.....two working RM2s again. Divine.
