Been using my grand for 2 days now and loving it. The only thing is every time I unscrew the cap from the RM2 the whole atty unscrews form the Reo. I don't want to screw the atty on any tighter. The cap screws onto the O-ring quite easily, not much force required at all when the air hole lines up. Then it seems to glue itself to the O-ring :).

I tried lubing the O-ring with VG but that didn't make any difference. What's the secret, LOL?

I think you're doing it wrong? :p

For some reason it sounds to me like you stretched the o-ring around the deck of the RM2? The part where the cap screws on to the deck??

The o-ring goes around the actual 510 connection in the catch cup. What this does is two things:

1.) Creates a seal around the airflow slots of the 510 connection, so juice doesn't leak out of them and into the well. It leaves nothing but a sealed straight shot up to the RM2 deck.

2.) It gives you some leeway to tighten down the RM2 deck and position your airhole/coil where you want it facing while vaping. It also allows you to do this with some protection from over-tightening down and damaging the gasket in the 510 connection.

The standard RM2 is milled on the bottom to fit in all models with the standard size catch cup. It is exposed a bit, and some people lay an o-ring on top of the catch cup to cover that gad. That serves no purpose other than looks.

Sorry if I misread your OP and you knew all this.

Cheers

most peeps drop the o-ring into the catchup then screw the rm2 on top of that, methinks...

some put an o-ring between the top and base of the rm2, but i've always thought that was in "drastic measures" category

You guys rock :). That's it. I just put the O-ring in the catch cup and all is well.

Thanks :thumb:

I use thicker 1.5 mm instead of the stock 1mm o ring. This allows me to get the air hole right and provides more pressure on the RM2 without damaging the 510 or it's gasket. I also screw the base on without the cap so that I don't over tighten the cap to the base.

That makes total sense. Thanks FB!
