On a side note, Funk Dracula mentioned that it's a modified Chinese dripper.......what is the original unmodified version? I would love to have an original non-bottom-fed version to put on my Provari.
Maybe your best bet for a non-bottom-fed version would be to ask Rob for an RM2 without bottom feed. I say this because he does a bit of machining of the upper rim on the base (this gives more access to build the coil) and he drills the airhole. Also he does some quality control on the center pin and base arrangement. A standard RM2 gets even more work done on it - the lower base is machined to give clearance for the Reo catch cup, the center pin is drilled, the ceramic cup is modified and the center pin to post connection is modified. I bought a couple of Triangles for parts, and then I realized how much work Rob was doing to transform them into RM2's.
I think it would work great - I also enjoy dripping on the odd occasion and trying different flavors. Its fun but it also reminds me how good and how convenient a Reo is!
