So this ? goes out to you REOnauts that have both. For fathers day, Mrs Underdawg has given me the green light to send my Grand up to Maine for a spa session AKA turned into an LP maybe upgrade to the new 510(have to get ahold of the Modshucker to figure out the $$$), a new door and a new atty.
Now I've been loyal to the my RM2s but I kinda oopsied one and now it's out of service.....maybe permanently. I'm at the point that I'm comfortable making sub ohm builds that are safe and now I want to try dual coils and something that has a bit more kick to it.
After watching s_X_d's vid on the RM7.....I want it.....badly, and now after seeing the RM8......I want it.....badly......especially the black one!
So what are y'alls thoughts on both that might outweigh one or the other?

My Mini 2.1 -Syren- will remain true to its form as my daily workhorse but the Grand -AmberLamps- is getting set up to be the after work cloudchucking sleeper mod! Show these youngins that the ole REO isn't outdated, obsolete and that it'll reduce these little whippersnappers into zero visibility fog! :headbang:

RM4 for the versatility. It will perform well as a flavour or a cloud atty.

If you are after a total cloud-making dual coil atty, then they tend to be rather unforgiving and can leak, just because the airflow is so wide open.

Were i to run duals in an RM8, i'd be a bit worried about that vape being hot; it's a small atty. But it's a Derringer and it has its fans, but not many that cloud-chase.

I did watch Todd's review of the Rogue and it looks to be a good atty, but it'll get condensation between the layers.

It's a stretch calling it a cloud chaser too, but it really depends what it is you are looking for. I think you'd have more options with your builds with a Rogue, so that might make it more useful?

Yep - the RM8 will be a tad better for flavour and cloudage than the RM7. The RM7, however, will be about as good as it gets for no leaking (not that the RM8 is particularly prone to it).

Since you're coming from a RM2, I would second T's suggestion of the RM4. It's afc has a wider range than is easy to get with either the 7 or 8, and it's no slouch for flavour. With it, you can pick up where the RM2 leaves off in terms of intensity and go up from there. The 7 & 8 start a distance beyond the RM2.

Just a few days ago, one of our fellow 'nauts found the jump to the RM7 too big a change from his beloved RM2's.

Thanks for the replies folks! I'm thinking the RM7 is out, the RM4 is looking real nice but 8 is also looking good, I'm digging its smaller porfile and I'm thinking that's the one I want to get. To me flavor is definitely a higher priority then clouds.
It's crazy, I've been away from the REOville and pretty much anything vaping related for about a year now and I come back to all these new RMs, 14500 Minis being revisited, more Woodies, and resin REOs?!? Fun times and alotta catching up!
Nuppin looks decent too but out of my price range for now at least.

So it's settled then. He needs to get all three - RM4+RM7+RM8.

I hear you. I've been riding on the "don't fix what ain't broke" mentality. Decided to have another look and... so many cool unopened doors. Funnily enough eyeing the same atomizers as you, and of course the upcoming resins.

Start vaping they said, you'll save money they said

Rm7 gets my vote. Im not sure about the rm8 but ive got three rogues (rm7) . My favorite atty by far and ALMOST leak proof.

The ALMOST leak proof bit is what had me thinking real hard on the RM7 and it is definitely on my wish list to get as well as the RM4, I'm close to dead set on a black RM8 now!

Yes I'm a "don't fix what ain't broke" person to the T....as well as a firm believer of the KISS method! If I hadn't broke my other RM2 and glue the wrong side of one of the magnets on my Grands door...... we probably wouldn't be having this conversation, I'd still be happily vaping away. Go to look at the REO site and see all these other RMs got me drooling for something different! What I'd really like to have is one of those nickel REOs Rob ran a few years ago, those look NICE!!! Found out they were a pain so I'm thinking that was a once and done deal...

I've saved a bunch since I started vaping.....but a 5 year old who has a penchant for girl scouts, baton, tap, horses, and whatever else she fancies obliterates that. Very well worth it though!!
