Yesterday I was vaping away at a baseball game, enjoying the sun and good company. I put my little box mod in my purse, in a lanyard and was getting ready to leave. About one minute later I smell intense BURNING and look down to see smoke rolling out of my purse like a mushroom cloud. I frantically tried to pull the smoking mod out of its case by the atty and it is freaking hot and the entire top is a melty chunk of plastic so I couldn't even grab it to shut it off. I finally extracted the mod in panic to find juice leaking everywhere and my steaming atomizer literally melted into 2 pieces. I tried to stick the two melted halves back together and like an idiot then tried to vape off of it. Lung full of plastic. I've learned a valuable lesson about the kill switch, and may be shy a few hundred brain cells this morning. The mod survived thank goodness, and RIP to a new atty.

Interesting. How did it burn in half? Did the connection separate from the little tube?
I chucked it..wait.......what do you mean "shipped in?" isn't that the whole atty thingy as is? :S Did I do something horribly stupid? OMG. Am I not supposed to vape with that tube on it?

It was likely the drip tip. I had the exact same thing happen recently. I wasn't actually around when it happened. I chucked my box mod in my bag, and forgot to power it off (normally I remove the batteries and atty when storing it). I came back hours later to vape it and was absolutely terrified to pull out a melted mess where once the 306 drip tip was. I'm just damn lucky the box managed to shut off before it caused a fire.
Always make sure you shut your mods off when storing.

Thankfully there were hardly any people there, it was just a non-competitive men's league. I'm sure some people saw but I was too consumed with sheer panic to look around.
People around here live in personal starbucks filled bubbles-I'm pretty sure that even if I went up in flames no one would put me out. I'm not important enough to waste an iced carmel machiatto on.
