I think of the many thousands I would have saved had I found the Reo last year. My Reo 'family' is already eight strong with #9 in the heavy smoking girlfriend's hands where it has worked the same magic. She's down to a handful of smokes/day in just over three weeks coming from a pack + habit. Unreal. Tried every style of mod with her, but only the Mini with an RM2 did the trick.

It's not just about the man and the mod - it's the unmistakable positive impact on so many lives.

Thanks to you Rob. Many, many thanks.

I am so grateful that you are you! I love the Reo and my cravings are almost nil since I started squonking. Such a great solution to my need for great flavor and ease of use. I drive truck half of my life and got soooo frustrated with tanks, clearos and cartos. Seems like constantly changing barometric pressure, altitude or something left me with really crappy vaping most of the time. I would leave CO enjoying a carto tank or PT2 and by the time I hit LA it was rotten! Add the frustrations involved in the glorious world of trucking and I found myself craving a stinkie.

Now, with my loverly Reo I am in vape heaven all day, everyday. Add to that a regulated mod and a Kayfun and I have two flavors of vaping goodness. Can't wait until I can afford to get another Reo or 10! Oh yeah, and the drop from 18mg to 6mg is just one more added benefit! Thank you Rob.

Loved your story, Rob. Don't we all have one! My husband started in the trade very similarly to you - young, hard working, taking too many risk because he was going to live forever! lol Now he's disabled and retired - too young. We got into vaping much the same way then ended with the tried and true ProVari/Kayfun setup which has served us well...till now.

I have been lurking/reading up on the REO phenomenon then came across this thread - we are sold. Soon we will be knocking on the door of REOVille to join you all with our new LP REO Grand (once we decide on a color though hubby is waiting for one on the blemished page cause it adds "character"). Whatever makes him happy :)

Vape on!

Rob, if you have some time (hahaha) I'd love to read the story of the porcupines. I've seen the video. Are they really pets or do you feed them bread to keep their front ends busy and their backsides away from you? lol
The porks and I go way back . IT all started with one brave pork I would have to guess 12 to 15 years ago . I was sitting out side in my chair just before dark enjoying a sandwich . This brave little guy was curious and he came right up to me sniffing my shoes and then my pants . He got up on his back feet put his paws on my leg I could tell he was interested in my sandwich so I gave him a piece of my bread .
Every evening he would show up for bread . Well There has always been porks on my lawn I have lots of clover I prefer clover over grass and animals love clover especially the flowers . One thing lead to another and now his friends wanted bread . I thought to myself this is great I love animals . So I began getting the old bagels from the doughnut shops and putting them out for the critters . I eventually got bread from the discounted bread stores . I dont recommend people do this type of thing animals can get out of control and it got to be a pain for me as well . I still feed them grain every night but I only give them a small amount of bread .
I moved there feeding area further away from the house . It has taken years to ween them . I still get to watch them but I am no longer really close to them like I use to be .

I love the little guys but I would get really attached to some of them and the hardest part is when they get old they stick close to my house close to me . Yeah I even built a pork house for them . Anyways I would have to watch them suffer when they got old . I try to keep my distance now I just couldn't take losing pals anymore . Some of them were just like a puppy if they see me they would come running to greet me . They have hands the little buggers will tug on your pant legs some of them would even climb up on me not so good in the summer . There one of the coolest critters I have ever run into .

Ummm...now it's time to ask Rob about his Porcupine dust that he sprinkles on all our Reo's. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. :)

Fat chance of that, I've been here AGES and still don't know where his screenname (Redeyedancer) came from. *sigh*

I will never tell its a trade secrete :)

All I know about the Porcupine dust is this...it's real. When I got my first Reo and actually held it in my hands, I immediately ordered a second one. Same thing happened with the 2nd one so I ordered a third one. Then I read somewhere here about the Porcupine dust so then I became wise. I opened the third box with surgical gloves to avoid contact with the dust and vaped it that way for a week until all the dust wore off.

Smart, huh! Not really...now I realize that the dust isn't just transmitted physically, but its transmitted by air also. So now I am totally hooked. I want another Reo!

(Anybody know of a Reobilitation facility near me?) :)

I just found out the other day what REO stood for. So ashamed but grateful too. :D

Someone told me that the REO name stood for his initials....well, being the brilliant person that I am, I thought for a long time and then publicly posted...." Hmm , his name is Robert O'Neil... shouldn't it be called the RON?" It was a long time before some kind soul enlightened me that his middle name is Eugene...and drop the "N"....
That is interesting because I thought that has to be it also, but couldn't figure it out exactly.Very cool.

Ok I feel like I am on stage here.

It is true I did masonry most of my life; started working in the trades when I was a teen. I worked for old school tradesmen so we did carpentry as well. I did lots of concrete flat work and tons of foundations and my fair share of roofing. I am not a business man; just a regular guy with a will to work hard and a lot of determination.

How did I end building mods? Well I had to. There were tube mods and pen style e-cigs. I disliked dripping with a passion. Dripping is for guys that have lots of free time. There were no tanks and no bottom fed mods. Actually, there was a bottom fed mod out there. You couldn't buy one… well you could, but you wouldn't get it. It didn't use standard atomizers and you couldn't replace the coil yourself. As far as I was concerned the rest of the world was doing it wrong .

I had never bought a mod. I went from a pen style e-cig to building my own mods. I decided to build my own bottom fed mod that used standard atomizers. I had no intentions of going into business selling mods. I just wanted to vape without carrying a juice bottle and the hassle of juicy fingers. I made a few out of plastic. Having some wood working experience, I started making them out of wood. I shared some of these in the modder’s section here on ecf. Lots of people showed interest in the mods, so I decided to sell them as a side business. The Reo was born.

Selling the wood reo wasn't a huge hit. Don't get me wrong. The people who “got it,” loved them, but most people were non-believers. I was still working construction at that time. One of the complaints was the reo was too big. At this time in the prehistoric vape world tiny mods were the “in thing.”

So I had a plan… make a metal bottom fed mod. Muttered under my breath “oh the reo is too big, I will show you.” But there was a problem. I had no metal working machines and at the time, I didn't have a clue as to how to run a metal working machine. So I found a guy. Yeah, I needed a metal guy. One that was willing to work with me for some green, of course. After months of trial and error, the Reo mini was born. This is where things got crazy… all of a sudden everyone and his brother wanted a reo. I don't care how many I would list, people would buy them all in minutes.

I thought that was great. The hooples love metal mods, oh and they did. The early metal mods were rough compared to the reos being put out today. Never a peep about the quality back in prehistoric vape world. Hooples were not fussy back then… a little pock mark on the finish wouldn't cause one to toss himself into the dirt. The prehistoric juice junkie just wanted nicotine and a reo was built for juice junkies.

In late 2010, I was still working in the trades; building chimneys, pouring concrete floors, painting buildings, and roofing… anything to make some green before the cold Maine winter crept in and shut me down. Well I thought the reo mini was nice but the truth is, I never really used the mini. I used my Wood reo with the 18650; the 14500 just didn't have the power needed for a guy that vaped 6 mls a day. What I wanted for a long time was an 18650 metal reo. Oh yeah, that's the ticket. Even when I was working on the mini, the whole time I really wanted to build the grand but the hooples rode me hard about the size of the reo. I had to put the hoops in their place.

So it was time to build the grand or the Grande. After building the mini, the grand came much easier. Same problem. I would build and build and build mods until I had a huge pile of grands. I listed them and *poof*…they were gone in minutes. Also I was having problems with my metal guy. He was unreliable and he did sloppy work. Frustrated, I started buying metal working tools. I picked up a mill shortly after I picked up a lath. Next, a cnc router and eventually a couple of cnc machines, once I realized I could run them. It’s a little scary buying large $ tools when you’re not sure if you can run them. Turns out I can run them and find it rather easy compared to working in the trades. But I digress.

I went to a large machine shop they just laughed at me, well…. not really, but yeah… they were laughing on the inside. You can’t just go to a machine shop without blue prints. I found a guy that was willing to make some prints for me. Yeah, I had to give him a pile of green. It is how these things work. He made me some really nice prints. So nice in fact, that the owner of the machine shop, you know…the guy that laughed at me, asked for the guys phone number. He wanted to hire him.

The owner of the cnc shop I use today jokes with me about the day he met me and how he never thought he would see me again after our first meeting. Many years later, he's not laughing anymore. I have spent a lot of cake with his company. I still use this company for the grand and mini bodies. I don't have the time to run them myself with all the other projects I have going. Most days both of my cnc machines are running all day long.

It wasn't long after the grands were released, I knew I had to make a choice. Build mods or build chimneys. My body is pretty beat up, it wasn't a hard choice. Many years later, most of the mod builders that were around when I started are gone and I am still shucking mods. I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t like tube mods.
Love it!:) And we are so glad you did. Fabulous product. Fantastic customer service.
