My husband purchased an ego-t started kit online last week (our first experience with e-cigs) and so far it's been fine. I ordered one for myself and I'm still waiting for it to come in. As I was looking around and reading about ego-t's, I came across an old thread discussing how many fake ego-t's are out there. When I investigated further, I'm convinced what my husband received and what I've ordered are not authentic Ego-T products. How worried should I be? I've read about 1100mah batteries exploding, which is what I have on order (this is how I determined mine is not authentic...they don't make 1100 mah batteries for Ego-t's). Should I just use what I get and hope it's okay? Send it back? Any suggestions would be helpful, along with some soothing messages if possible that everything is going to be fine.

The eGo name is not a brand name. It refers to the type of thread on the battery. The T, C, W, etc refers to the type of atomizer or tank system it uses.

Joye eGos have their logo etched on the bottom cap of the battery. Other eGos are sometimes made under licence from Joye, some are copies of the basic design and some are cheap junk. Most aren't junk! Usually the Joye eGos are regulated to 3.4 volts and the knock-offs are unregulated and come off the charger at 4.2 volts and they signal recharge at 3.5 volts.

As long as what you have works, Enjoy It!

If it doesn't work, contact the vendor. This applies no matter who made the product.

My husband ordered his from vapedudes.com and I ordered mine from electroniccigarettesworldwide.com. His was on special for under $40, and mine was about $50 or so.

Vapedudes sells genuine joyetech. As for the other company, It's a copy, not even an authorized copy. It doesn't look like the other place only has a 1 week warranty and no return policy. I would suggest that you cancel that order or call your cc company.

There are several places I can recommend that sell either genuine joye or really good clones. Some of the clones are actually better than the joye because they have higher voltage.

If you can cancel, you should. Number one thing in this industry is to make sure yo deal with someone reputable that has a good return policy and warranty. The ego system Apollo sells is very good and comes with a 1 year warranty and 30 day mine back. Also, check on this forum. The bad companies get run out of here pretty quickly.
