I think you are right, the vaporfi tobacco tasted like an ash tray. Will look for some sampler kits to see what is what.

Thanks

I once ordered some sample juices from vaporfi and I literally could not tell them apart, they all tasted the same to me, and that taste wasn't good. Never ordered anything else from them, nor would.

Here was I thinking I would save money vaping. My initial vaping ideas are out the window, Still waiting to try my Motley Brew's E-liquids as I need a 0mg to mix with the 12mg and lower the nic level down to a 6. I have ordered quite a few fruity flavours which are not as bad as I thought, as well as some coffee flavoured e-liquids.

Doing well with the SMOK Alien but I have a Smok Vape 22 pen arriving tomorrow as I want a lighter device for when I go out. Also just ordered the Cloud Beast tank which I should get after XMAS - not needed but I really want!

I've not had a cigarette for 11 days since I started vaping. Some days/times are harder than others but I am hoping by being well stocked in everything I won't get caught out.

Thanks all for the great forum and great insight/help.

Great job on 11 days of cigs! Yeah, this stuff can be a bit confusing, even if you've been vaping for a while. The Alien is a nice mod, I'm using it right now. I don't have the Baby Beast it comes with as I generally avoid tanks that require factory coils and have moved over to RTAs, but starting out factory coils can be quite good. I still use them in my travel tanks.

As you discovered finding the right juice can be difficult. As it all comes down to personal preference, reviews are pretty meaningless. You'll also discover there are good juices that sell for modest amounts, and "premium" $20 and up bottles of juice that are plain awful. Not sure which Halo juice you got, but the one I started with was their Tribeca, and it's still a favorite taste to this day. Do read through the e liquid section on this board as it can give you at least a general idea of what's out there and which vendors supply a good juice for the money.

Well done on the 11 days cig free! First 2 weeks are the hardest.

Great move with the Beast tank. Only suggestion I'd make is to ignore the recommended wattage on the coils, start low (about 50) then work your way up in 5w increments until you hit the sweet spot. Be careful not to go over 110W though, anything over that and your Samsung 30Qs won't be happy about it.

Not sure on your location, but....
I have been saying for sometime now, Don't overspend on equipment. Nothing would suck worse than $1000 of unused vaping equipment gathering dust on a shelf six months from now. It is far more important to find flavors you can vape and enjoy. Here are a list of some that I have enjoyed.
Heather’s Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids Known for flavored Tobaccos. Adam and Heather take naturally extracted tobacco flavors and add top-notes, such as cherry, vanilla, chocolate, etc. Large selection of various flavors, multiple PG/VG and Nicotine choices. Legend is their signature e-liquid.
Highbrow Vapor | American Made E Liquid - Premium E Cigs Byron extracts his own natural flavors, making his fruit flavors and sweet flavors exceptional (but I would avoid his tobaccos). HIs website might still have an ingredients list, explaining all of the ingredients for each e-liquid offered. Call the number listed, Byron himself usually answers and will work with you on PG/VG and Nicotine ratios.
Welcome to AltCig.com - America's eLiquid If you want super sweet, this is the place. Their sweet, pastry and milkshake flavors are exceptional. If you call, they will work with you on your PG/VG and Nicotine ratios.
Ahlusion - A Fresh New Taste This vendor has a very loyal following. They would ask what kind of equipment you are using, just to try to customize your e-liquids for your enjoyment. Their Tobacco and fruit flavors are highly recommended.
www.Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com, e-liquids for electronic cigarettes The title says it all. A former ECF member who has succeeded in creating his own line of tobacco flavors. Clay will answer your calls, and will work with you.

To my knowledge, all of the above listed Vendors mix Custom (made to order) E-Liquids in Laboratory settings. All of the mentioned Vendors have been around for several years, and pride themselves in Customer Service.
I would highly recommend contacting each of these vendors, and begin your search for your favorite flavors. Good Luck.

I really need to research before ordering something! The Smok Vape Pen 22 is defective and in the middle of trying to return it to VapeNW. The coil will not screw into the drip top part of the vape and just keeps turning as though the screwing grooves are faulty. Think I will change for the iJust or Smok Brit One as these seem to be better with removable/adjustable tanks

Don't feel bad. Most people use 3mg or 6mg with sub-ohm coils. A simple rule of thumb is the lower the ohms, the lower the nic content in the juice. High nic juice is more for high ohm devices that don't give off a whole lot of vapor. Since low ohm devices vaporize far more juice, you will get much more nicotine in one puff than you would from a high ohm tank.

To simplify it, assume that you get 150 puffs(this is just a number I pulled out of thin air) from a 4.8ml tank with a sub ohm coil. At the same time, you get 150 puffs Afton a 1.6ml tank that doesn't produce nearly as much vapor. If you are running 6mg juice in the 4.8ml tank and 18mg juice in the 1.6ml tank, you are getting the same amount of nicotine on every puff. If you suddenly put 18mg juice in the 4.8ml tank, you are getting 3 times the nicotine with every puff, or the equivalent of putting 54mg juice in the 1.6ml tank.
High vs low watts. Resistance in itself isn't the main variable, although low resistance coils usually require more power.

Hi All

Long time smoker looking/hoping to quit. I did a little research and have gone for the SMOK Alien 220w kit with the Baby Beast tank.

Initially I didn't understand everything that goes into the kit and ordered the wrong coils (ordered the Big Beast Coils.) When ordering my batteries from Directvapor.com the Samsung 30Q battery shows 2 batteries in the picture but it was only one battery (I should have realised by the price!!).... So my Smok is sat on my shelf until the seconds battery arrives. I am hoping it gets smoother after this.

I am not really interested in the fruity e-liquids and have ordered the Vapor-fi tobacco liquid as well as Motley Brew Old Fashioned. The Vape liquid market is a minefield and will be doing my research, any recommendations?

Anyway, good to be here and I hope things get easier and I am sure this forum will help me.
The Alien kit is a great kit! i managed to stop a 14 year habit all thanks to that kit, tried once 4 years ago but filed miserably as the e-cigs back then really didn't cut it. u may want to get a rebuildable section in the future though.
you may get a little temptation to smoke when you first start vaping but just stick to it and i am sure you will be able to. after just 2 days you may even find that cigarette smoke starts to stink. All the best!

Here was I thinking I would save money vaping.
I spent quite a bit when I started but now that I've found what works for me and make my own juice my spending has leveled off. Got a coil building tool kit for Christmas so that's my next step, but I am researching RTAs before I spend any money. Considering how much better I feel not smoking it's money I feel ok about spending. Good luck!
