So after 20 years of being a pack a day smoker and some lurking on these forums I finally quit what you guys call analogs. I did my home work and bought an Ego T. I love it but don't get me wrong I was craving an analog badly the first 2 weeks and some how got through it. I now have no desire to smoke on of them anymore at all. Thank god at almost 8 bucks a pack it was draining the wallet.

Way to go Stugotz! Glad to hear you're over the hump.

Even though switching to e-cigs has been the easiest way for me to ever quit analogs, it still wasn't a breeze for me. It's not always as easy as some of the forums make it out to be. I loved vaping from the start, but totally kicking the analog habit was tough. For the first few days after receiving my starter kit I vaped like crazy and still had to have a couple of analogs to stop me from killing someone. I kept reading all of these posts about how people got their starter kit and never had an analog again, and I kept thinking - what's wrong with me?!!

For me, it was only after I ran out of analogs that I quit smoking them. And even then, I have to admit that in a mad panic and four hour intense craving I broke down and went to the nearest late-night gas station to pick up a pack. So I'm shaking as I'm standing there waiting for the teller, and he pulls out my bright shiny pack of cigarettes and puts them in front of me. I felt totally guilty inside, but it was like there were glowing golden rays and harp music surrounding those cigarettes. I couldn't wait to just rip into that pack. So I hand him a twenty (the only thing I brought with me) and he looks at me and points at the sign above him that says 'exact change only after 11:00 pm'. He said he didn't have change so I huffed and puffed and left without that glowing pack of stinkies. I knew right then that I wasn't meant to buy that pack of cigarettes. I went home and vaped like a mad woman, and the craving passed. I'm glad I didn't have the exact change.

It's only been 2 1/2 weeks completely analog-free for me, but I feel like I have a handle on things. I quit analogs while in the process of moving (which I find soooo stressful and busy), so I figure if I didn't turn to analogs then, I can get through anything.

Congratulations, Stugotz! Keep up the good work, and welcome to ECF!!

I'll tell you what helped me the most. Having a 5 volt passthrough for those gotta smoke now moments. I highly recommend having one, and they're not very expensive. Hell, it's been 3 months+ for me, and I still get vicious cravings from time to time.
Congratulations, and best of luck to you!

Oh yeah definitely. I nabbed one after everything I owned broke and I wound up back on analogs for a week. Worst week ever. Those passthrough's are worth their weight in gold.

The 5V passthrough from Electronicstix is like 10$ now.

5 VOLT USB PASS THROUGH (REQUIRES SUFFICIENT POWER SOURCE)

Also congratulations. Your body will definitely be thanking you from here on out - I know mine has.

Grats!!

And I recommend you have spares for everything and in addition buy and learn how to use Boge 510 cartomizers (the 3 ohm ones are easier to learn on, then you may prefer the hotter 2 ohm ones). Cartomizers are great for clingy flavors you don't want in your atomizers, cinnamon which is both clingy and can damage plastic, and just as a backup in case you have atomizer problems.
