rough stack 510 connector issue

I spun a carto off my RS to put a new one on. The center pin in the RS 510 connector fell out. That was strange... but no big deal. I'll just put it back in... or so I thought until I noticed a tiny rubber washer on my desk too. Where does the tiny tan colored rubber washer go?

And, is there another part I might have lost? The center pin is a bit smaller than the hole (but the hole is smaller than the washer, so that can't be it). So, the pin being smaller than the hole, it doesn't just press in. What's supposed to keep it in there?

The tiny rubber washer keeps the pin in place and insulates it from the outer shell
center pin= positive
outer shell=negative

That's a bummer. I can't get it to stay in there.

Any idea which 510 connector they use? I have it narrowed down to three because the rest are brass...

We just use the standard 510 sealed gold color connector. Submit a ticket as we have some of those parts here. Replacing the connector is also an option but they don't come out easy

Thanks Hoog! I'll do that. I ordered a spare cap (which your guys have already shipped - speedy fast, amazing good service which I appreciate), so I'll be back up and running by Friday. If I can fix this one though, I'll order another maxi tube. I really wanted another RS anyway so I could just leave one at work.

After powdercoat becomes an option, I'll start looking like the REO users with an avatar picture of a zillion of the same PV all in different colors and configurations.

Six...before you change that avatar I need to know just what the heck that is. I've looked at that so many times and still can't figure it out. All I can ever see is some kind of funky waffle with cheese on top along with some mutant meatball. I'm pretty sure that isn't it.....or is it???

A few places in Montana and one or two in Washington have sandwich shops called "The Staggering Ox". They make their bread in soup cans, hollow it out, and fill with all sorts of really good ingredients (used to be about 8 or 10 kinds of sandwich, now there's maybe 30 or 35). The Ox sandwiches are absolutely unique. I'm lucky enough to live in the town where the Staggering Ox was born and I've been enjoying their food since I was about maybe 16 years old (that's a long time - I'm getting old).

This is completely off topic, but a fellow from Arkansas PM'd me the other day. He knew exactly what my avatar pic was. Turns out he lived here for a while a few years back, but I was really surprised that someone just randomly noticed and recognized my avatar on a web forum.

If you ever find yourself in Helena, Missoula, or Billings Montana, or in Spokane Washington, look for The Staggering Ox. Someday, I'll wager that franchise booms and they'll be everywhere, but for now, the best sandwich anywhere can only be had in two States.

That looks awesome (now that I know what it actually is ) but I'm afraid all the carbs would put me into a diabetic coma. Oh how I miss the days of yore when It didn't matter what or how much of anything I ate. Thanks for the reply....it had been kinda buggin me.
