Here is a site that sells li-on batts, they may know of a local distributor
you've probably seen the warnings, use PROTECTED batteries
both over-charging and 'run-down' protection is needed
when these are drained completly, they may explode when charged
or when put into heavy discharge !!!
with that in mind here's the site

All-Battery.com - Rechargeable batteries & Chargers - Li-Ion Cylindrical Rechargeable Batteries

how do you like that pv ?
I saw it on 1 of the websites and don't remember seeing a review on it
here's your chance ...happy and safe vaping :)

no prob... also there's a good tutorial on Everything there is to know about AW batteries which covers drain ratings really well - worth understanding, but you may have to read through it a few times..
I have a few sets of the protected 18350s from MV and just asked what the drain rating is on these since it's not labled - I use them stacked which changes things a bit but I'm curious if I'd be pushing the limit with an LR atty using 1 battery (draws about 2.5 amps)....

If you do a google search for protected 18350 batteries you will find a few places that have them but they are about $4 more then the unprotected ones At first I thought one of the sites was the same one as Stutzy mentioned - but it was one with a similar look - it seem most sites were importing from China though.

yep... been there...- look a bit closer- most of them are pages with other batteries that are protected or warning messages that these are "Not Protected".... most of the others lead back to ebay or alibaba ... so either you have to buy in bulk or trust a questionable source. Most of the batteries are made in china but you really should buy from a reputable source.....

ADD: but I'd be happy to see another domestic source that's got a bit more of a business than an ebay distributorship .....
add again- and BatteryJunction is a reliable source but they do not have protected 18350s. Also, Lighthound has them listed but has been out of stock for ages....

Yes this is a bit of a bummer because I was looking at the Roughstack with thoughts to buy - I have a Bartleby touch - which I love but I am old with very dry skin so I am not a good conductor - and it is a box which is more awkward to handle. I want a simple mod that is easy to handle (I have arthritis) and is cheap - and the Roughstack seemed to fit the bill - but I would hate to have to relay one one or two vendors for batteries - only to find they go out of business.

I may still go with it though - I like that it is so rugged Ii will not have to be afraid to drop it.

How long does it take for you to break even on a $100 mod investment (including batteries) go for it.. it's a PV not a car...If you buy 3 or 4 and don't abuse the batteries they should last well over a year - rotate through 2 or 3 and keep a spare on the shelf ... you're more likely to drop your PV and loose it before its paid for than run out of batteries...

The 18350s are fairly new and in low demand but there are more mods comming that will use them.. plus they are a much better option for HV in 18mm mods (if your box/tube has the length) than RCR123 ... Plus, more of a reason to make sure our friends at MadVapes don't go anywhere....

I got my roughstack in yesterday. This is a very good mod. Granted its only been a day but this thing with a lr atty puts out an amazing amount of vapor. I don't think I will be looking for anything else for quite some time. I think I'm actually going to have to lower my nic content. Considering these batteries are 1200 mah they will probably last at least 6 months, they just dont need to be charged as often. At five bucks and some change I don't mind ordering a couple extra sets down the road as well.
