It will have to be vertical because there are more than 2 juice ports.

On my Vapefly Optima RBA coils, I used 26g Kanthal and wrapped it 4 times on the jig tool and used the cotton strips. Vaping well so far. Came out to .94Ω and starting it out on 20w.
Sounds right. 26 sounds pretty thick, and slow ramp up is the reason I never got along with it. Wonder what most of the pods are using? Must be 28....or thinner, even.
I stopped using 26g due to ramp-up. But then I realized that preheat solves that problem to a large degree so now I used my 26g wire up. But I won't likely buy any more. I may try 27g at some point just out of curiosity. But 28g is my go to.
I think you're right, they use thinner than 28. I find them very thin when I try rebuilding them.
