Hello all,
I was sent a sample "Royal Smoker" mini e-cigarette, model CT-401, yesterday.
Sadly, it is a poor product - either it is slightly ahead of its time in terms of what currently can be achieved with the technology, or it is just bad quality/design. Having not tried any other mini e-cigs I cannot compare.
To get the unit to activate, you have to puff very hard - and even then it only activates for a second. Only a minimal amount of vapor is delivered, and because you are puffing so hard, un-vaporized nicotine solution enters your mouth!
As you can (hopefully!) see from the above photo, the mini works on the same principle as the pen-like, but with a different design. The cartridge is a single unit encompassing the same solution-holding wadding. It is made of a flexible type plastic which slides over the atomizer allowing the wire-wool "bridge" to come into contact with the solution.
The wadding is shaped with two channels on either side to allow the vapour to pass through the cartridge to a small hole at the end. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to allow enough airflow to fully activate the system.
On a slightly strange note, the unit was sent to me as a commercial sample from RoyalSmokers, but the logo on the atomizer reads "PartySmoker."
I'm afraid this is the first e-cigarette I've had that goes straight into the dustbin.
