So I got my rsst today.
I have 400 mesh and 32 gage wire.
I rolled the mesh, did 3 wraps which gave me 1.2 omhs
All the coils glowed fine and equal.
It wicks ok as the flavour is ok.
But there is just a lack of vapor when I vape it.
I was expecting clouds of vapour.

Have I rolled too much mesh?
What size in length and width should I cut the mesh?

I've read many people drill out the air hole a bit bigger for more vapor. It helped a lot on mine. But became quite airy at the same time.
I think I prefer RBAs with several very small holes as opposed to 1 larger hole. I wish I had a drill bit that could make 0.5mm holes.
Anyhow, usually air flow is the problem.

My suggestions:

Drill out the air inlet hole to at least 1.5mm (1/16"), if it isn't already.

Align inlet hole directly on the coil.

Get some 28 or 30 gauge kanthal. More wraps for the same resistance means more surface area for atomization. You also could try twisting your 32 gauge or wrapping two lengths in parallel.

Played with the wick, re coiled it, 4 wraps this time and still came out at 1.1 ohms
No hot spots, BUT still lacking in vapour...

I thought at 1.1ohms on a mech mod it would be a beast for vapour...
What am I doing wrong??

I don't understand why you are only getting 1.1 ohms, with 4 wraps of 32ga wire. I use 28ga kanthal on my RSSTs, and get about .9 to 1.0 ohm.

It just showed at 1.3 on my SVD, so gave it a vape on the SVD, and yes!!!!, some good vapour production.

I just don't get why it such less on the mech mod.
I was under the impression that these things work great with mech mods.

Guess I still need to play more.

So I can twist 2 lengths of the wire together then do a 3 or 4 wrap with it on the wick?

Must be one hella small wick?

You can twist the wire to almost halve the ohms. I wasn't really too impressed with the results myself tho.

It's now jumped to 1.5ohms on the SVD
Vapes well on the SVD but i bought it to use on my mech mod, not happy i can't set the vapour from it.
I see these reviewers getting great results with their rbas using a mech mod....

Sounds like you have a bad connection or a short somewhere.
