Background: The only tanks I've used were Kanger Subtank Mini's for a while a few years ago on a Sigelei 30w Mod. They didn't play well with my favorite high VG juice (I actually cut a 80/20 VG/PG juice with more VG), even after the dremel mods. Then I got a Snow Wolf 200W when they were still fairly new. Didn't take to the temp control, so I've been using it almost exclusively in VW mode at 40-60w with a couple different RDAs, mostly an El Diablo Baal clone $7.70 Baal Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - stainless steel / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping with only 1-3 airflow holes open, for almost two years (with a 6 month interlude when I started smoking again). I really like that setup and will probably continue to use it at home.

I have an iStick Pico inbound for something more pocketable than that brick, especially with summer coming up where I'll be out and about more often. I'd be fine continuing to use my RDAs, but it's inconvenient, and are not a sealed system. I don't want to have to vape an RDA dry every time I have to stick it back in a pocket. I need a tank that will mimic what I'm used to, while being easy to build on, and won't leak in my pocket, even if laying horizontal while sitting. Tough and inexpensive would be big pluses.

There are so many more options now than there were just a few years ago, reading through the forum can be like trying to drink from a firehose. Any help narrowing my search would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I still use the KT Subtanks (mini and nano) alot these days with an unmodified RTA and haven't noticed any problems with leakage using high VG juice (typically 80/20 or so). Higher PG juice is another story. Noticed if I let it cool before I holster it, it RARELY leaks. Don't carry it in my pocket though...I feel body heat is enuf to encourage leaks. I bought a camo knife pouch I attached to my belt and carry it in there upright.

The only rta I can think of that would give you a restricted lung hit & fit on the Pico is the Augvape Merlin rta it also comes with an airflow restrictor plug so you can adjust your draw some have seeping issues but it is a great rta with 4ml juice capacity no problems with higher vg.

There's also the Wotofo Serpent Mini it's a nice one too but it only holds 2ml.

KT Subtanks...

I don't recall ever having an issue with leaking with the Subtanks. The issue was that it wicked so slowly with high VG juice that even after dremeling out the juice ports I was still getting dry hits if I didn't wait for it to catch up. Extremely annoying.

They're also only rated to 30w from what I recall.

(Kayfun monster) .

Airflow is loose mtl/tight dl.

People build/wick like a normal kayfun, but i stick my wicks into the channels to help prevent leaking.

Also because its a "kayfun" , there are tons of aftermarket peices to change the look ad/or how much liquid it holds. I use slam caps(2ml) but also have a tank section that holds 10-14mls

Thank you all for the recommendations.

I did quite a bit of reading over the last day and a half and have decided that I can't decide lol.

I now have a Merlin, a Serpent Mini, and an OBS Engine Mini all on the way. I figure that between the three of them I should find one that will work. Or it will give me a better baseline for what's next.

I still have to research the Kayfuns (clones more likely, because I'm not paying $100 each for something I might or might not like or use).

Thanks again!
