Rubber coating?

Has anyone tried using something like plasti dip to make a rubber coating for their GLV? I was thinking of trying something like this to keep the finish looking nice while im working. I work in a truck repair shop so its pretty likely my finish will get messed up pretty quickly. Does anyone have any alternative ideas to make a removable protective cover?

It will work. Just use a cork/eraser/rubber plug to protect the atty connection and then 'CAREFULLY' tape over the button. Then just dip it while assembled and let it dry. Use a sharp exacto/hobby knife to seperate the pieces. I've done this to several mag lites and other devices with no issues. I even did one with truck bedliner then cut it apart, though it was a chore to go through. You could also use heat shrink tubing if you could find some that was big enough.
