Anyone else have any rude encounters with vape shop employees?
Just last week I went to a vape shop in NYC I was looking for a new mod, after I asked a few questions of the selections I noticed the employee pretty much yelling at the customer next to me asking about the prices and what coil head does the tank use, so then I asked the price for an ipv4 that I saw was on the clearance side, he then screamed at me telling me if I did not just here what he said to the other guy, I then proceeded to tell him that he was talking to the other guy not me I wasn't ease dropping on them then he said next time pay attention cause I'm not repeating it. I just left by the way the ipv4 was on clearance cause it had a chip on the corner and he was selling it for $110 and he was arguing with me that I knew nothing lol

Zoiks! Harsh... I've had pretty good treatment at all stores but one, so I don't go back there. I bought an Aspire Atlantis II tank, and they come with two atomizer/coils, and when I asked him where the second coil was after paying for it, he claimed that they did not come with a second coil. I never went back and have spent quite a bit on gear and e-liquids since that they would have made in sales.

It's a sad day when they try to rip you off, I'm all for supporting local shops and everything but not if I am not getting full customer service for what I'm paying for, an incident like that happen to me I bough a sigelie(pretty sure I spelled that wrong) x-tank and it comes with two coil heads, but the ones in there were for a ego one cl atomizer head so someone must have swapped them after tellin them they gave me three of the original heads no charge :)

Egads! That's horrible!

I've been in a vape shop that I shall say was less than a pleasant experience. Left them a bad review on Yelp :sneaky:

Took my chance on another vape shop and was super happy with the service and the employees there. Gave them a great review on Yelp :)

Wow, sounds like that shop has a future...

I've run into some poor customer service skills, but nothing to that extreme.

There's a local shop outside Boston that I "tried" to frequent, but both times I went in there to grab some juice I was met with blank stares and silence following each of my questions regarding what they had in stock. It was kind of comical actually. At one point I wasn't 100% certain the employee was still breathing.

With the very stiff price competition from internet vendors these guys should be rolling out the red carpet for anyone that walks through their doors. A lot of them do; most of my experiences have been good.

I have run in to my fair share of not fully satisfying customer service and some really great ones.
I have experienced something like what you just stated, I went to this new shop I found from the outside looked
really neat and like everyone was enjoying themselves, at the window I can see evryone inside was all laughing
and communicating that is until I walked in with two buddies. The whole shop went quiet and just stared at us
very uncomfortably.

I am very careful how I treat people. I take time with everyone and just acknowledge customers that walk in if I am busy. I will show all tanks in detail to newbies even if customer is not buying a tank, to explain what a dripper, rebuildable tank and rebuildable coils ect just so they have some knowledge. I invite them back to sit in vape lounge and we can chat and perhaps build some coils when not busy. I talk about battery safety and twining batteries ect. I rebuild all used stock coils and if someone is having trouble I will install one of the rebuild in it and get it vaping good at no charge. Few little things we do. I volunteered there (with side perks)the last year and a half since it opened and now training my wife as full time manager.

Sorry to all that had a bad experience but we are not all like that. I have a lot of people coming to our store daily for a chat and a free coffee. I am one that has been in a bad vape store that I would not step a foot in again so I make sure people want to come back to our store. My advce is keep looking because their are good stores out their that will make you feel very welcome.

We only have one vape shape around here, unless you want to drive an hour out but the one in town, all the employees are quite nice and vary in knowledge. A couple do automatically assume that whomever comes into the shop, knows nothing of anything and expect you to take their word for it and buy what they grab from their shelves for you (which is generally always over priced, $55 for one 18650 and a 4 pack of coils!). They're never rude, but they are trying to push their merchandise.

Other than that, it's literally always a giant dense fog in there. I understand it's a vape shop, a place to chill, bullcrap, and talk about everything related to vaping... but at least prop the front door open to allow some of it to dissipate quicker. They close late evening, and I've gone by their shop at about 4-5am, a few hours before they open and it'd still be a cloud in there!

Looks like there taking advantage of being the only shop around from what it sounds like.

Indeed they are. The $55 example was when my brother went in there with me (he doesn't know much about vaping) to buy a battery and the coils, he told the guy what he needed and showed him his old battery that had been long gone. He grabbed the correct pack of coils, a decent battery, popped it on the table, and then told him the total. I walked up after hearing the total and I told my brother to just get the battery, as he had a few coils left.

No one knows everything and in slow time it is all reading if you are one that cares. I own almost everything different that comes in the vape shop. I give no bull, and am honest with my opinions. I will never play up a piece of crap just to get rid of it. Lay out options for the customer and give the good, bad and the ugly. Then they can make an informed decision and not come back on you. Tried to talk a customer out of an eVic-VT yesterday to a eVic VTC but he wanted the orange and black for his Harley colors. Ok VT it is. LOL

I respect that I would like to know things up front if a device has flaws Id rather hear about it for I can just learn to work around its faults

Just to clarify, I've had more than my fair share of positive experiences in vape shops. Like any other B&M, you get your hits and misses. I love to see a good shop thriving, and that's not an easy thing to accomplish. Most of the ones near me seem to be barely making ends meet. We took a hit here in Worcester recently with the ban on vaping inside the vape shops. It could put a bit of a damper on the social aspect these shops offer. Not only are the local shops a good place to chit chat, they provide a nice setting to share info/news on all the legal happenings related to vaping.
