I know this is long but it is actually for the better. You will quickly see that things are going to go back to the fun way it used to be. Please take a couple of minutes and read these. I am going to leave it open for discussion as long as it is kept polite and no trash talk.

Guidelines;

****All offers are BUYER BEWARE just like in the classifieds. ECF will not help you if you have a trade that goes wrong. mods will try to mediate but there is no guarantee that we can do anything about it. ****

1. Post an offer. If after a couple of hours no one has accepted your offer you may add to it or change it completely. You cannot just withdrawal an offer if no one has accepted it. Your offer is only withdrawn if someone makes a new offer and does not claim yours (see #2).

2. If an offer has gone unaccepted for awhile, then someone else may come in and place a new offer. The person placing the new offer can accept the offer that stalled the thread or not, but he is not entitled to any other offer, which brings us to...

3. Once you accept an offer it is yours to keep. We will not be going back five or six offers just because one was not accepted. We will work with the current offer until it is accepted. It is now yours to do with as you please, including selling or trading in the classifieds or on another forum.

****Here is an example of what might occur with rule #1, #2 and #3..****

Member A makes an offer
Member B takes the offer and makes their own
No one takes Member B's offer for 5 hours.
Member C comes in, makes a new offer thus canceling Member B's offer.
Member C cannot lay claim to Member A's offer, it still belongs to Member B even though no one took Member B's offer at that time.
Member B keeps what they originally offered and can offer it at a later time if they want.
Now, this puts Member C in the position of not getting something when they make the offer but it is called Pay it forward and sometimes you may just have to take one for the team. I've done it a few times to get things moving again.****

4. While it's alright to go a little off topic let's try to keep it at a minimum. There is a Chit Chat thread and we can make more if needed.

5. Be polite. Rudeness will not be tolerated. If you have a problem with a member, try to resolve it with that member in a PM. If it can’t be resolved, then take it to a PIF moderator in a PM. DO NOT fight on the board. Debating is fine, fighting is not.

6. If you are caught taking advantage of the offers you will be dismissed from the group and not allowed to participate. What constitutes taking advantage: Taking big offers and offering little back on a regular basis. We know that new members don’t have much and that is to be expected but it won’t take long to get a stash going and be able to offer more things back to the group.

7. When you accept an offer it is up to you to contact the one that is offering it. Don't expect them to contact you. Send them a PM with a copy of what the offer is so there is not mistaking what was on the table at the time.

8. This social group is for trades only. No money should trade hands. That belongs in the classified section.

9. If you do not want the whole offer, please wait and tell the person making the offer in the PM you send them with your info. It will stop confusion on the board.

10. Not everyone can easily get to their stash to see what they have to offer up. In this case to avoid confusion, quote the offer you are taking and post "I'll take that offer and give me a minute to put my offer up" When you edit your post to add your offer, leave the whole thing intact. Do not take the part about "give me a minute to make my offer" out of your post. It will save any possible confusion down the road. If you end up being the one that does not get the offer, please edit your post saying something to that effect so no one gets confused like I did,lol There is now a time limit on dibs. You must post your offer within 30 minutes of calling dibs. It is not fair to keep the thread holding their breath while waiting. After 30 minutes the offer you accepted goes back on the block.

11. Be as specific as you can with your description, strength, PG or VG, amount, Brand, etc.

12. When you accept an offer, please try to remember to put a copy of the offer in your PM to the one you accepted it from, especially if there is a lot going on at that time.

13. Once you accept an offer and receive it is yours to do with as you please.

14. Please try to mail your offers in a timely manner. We understand that many of us are disabled and have trouble getting out so not all offers will be shipped the next day and maybe not even the day after that. If it is going to be more than a couple of days, please notify the person that is expecting it so they don’t get worried.

15. All co-ops must be presented to the moderating TEAM. They will be based on a case by case basis and guidelines established before they can move forward. This includes any co-ops that are done, by me especially. I don’t want the mistakes made that I made ever again. My co-op was a disaster and we all know it. Any co-op posted without moderation team approval will be deleted.

16. All contests will be presented to the moderation team. All rules and guidelines should be in place before presentation. Any contest listed without moderation team approval will be deleted.

17. No policy changes will be made by any one moderator. They will be made by the moderating team as a group. This will stop any rules being made based on emotions.

18. No more Pick 3 of… offers. Post what you are offering. If you want to do a surprise pack, post as such. ie: 4 x 3ml of premium juice at xx mg. But no more of the choose 3 flavors from the list below. That just stalls things way too often.

19. One more rule and then I’ll quit for today, lol Please don’t keep accepting one offer right after another. Give other people a chance to accept something. Don't accept offers back to back. Allow a little time for others to get in the mix.

20. You may not accept your own offer or any part thereof. ~added 7/21/10

21. You may not accept two offers in a row.~added 7/21/10

22. No apologizing for the size of an offer

23. All liquids need to be labeled with flavor, supplier, preferably the mg and the PG/VG ratio. We know that not all of those are always available but do not send an unlabeled bottle in any offer or trade in PIF.~ Added 9/1/10

Guidelines subject to change as we grow.

What constitutes abuse

1. New members are expected to make smaller offers than they accept. After they have received several offers and develop a stash then it is expected that their offers slowly get to be more generous.

2. Established members waiting and watching for the “good” offers to be made and snagging them all the time. It is understandable to see something good and take it now and then, but not all the time. After all, this is about helping others, not just ourselves. Established members are entitled to good offers sometimes, otherwise they will run out of things to offer and be right back where they started. But, don’t take ALL the good offers. Leave some for the new members that really need them.

We have recently finished a 100mg liquid co-op. I am sure we will see some of this offered in the DIY PIF and the regular PIF thread. Please note, when you list it be sure to also post that 100mg is not meant for straight vaping and it should be cut with PG, VG and/or flavoring.

To our new members and new vapers, the 100mg is great but you do have to use caution and care when handling it. Wear good gloves, not the cheap ones you see at Walmart for $1 a box. This is your life so don't skimp. You can get a box of good Nitrile gloves for about $12 from Walmart. These are good enough that you can wash your hands with them on and use the again. I have been using them for awhile now. Before you take your gloves off make sure to wipe down the things you have touched, including your ecig. I got transfer from mine after I took off my gloves and it was not fun. Took me a little bit to figure out how I got it on me. I didn't wipe down my ecig that I using to taste the BBB with. I must have had some on my gloves that got on my ecig which transferred to my bare hands after I took the gloves off. I wiped everything down the next time I mixed and I didn't have the problem. Use common sense and be careful and you will be fine.

PIF is not the classifieds. It is not a give away game. It is here to help people without going broke yourself.

When an offer is made, it is not an open invitation for free samples to go to everyone. When an offer is made that you can choose from two or three things, that does not mean someone else can request the things that were not taken. None of us are rich. We all have budgets and a limited amount that we are able to PIF. Just because you see more than one thing offered, as in a choice, it doesn't mean that all of the items are there to be taken at once. If you see something you want, wait until they make an offer again and try to get it that way. Don't expect people to hand out samples to everyone unless they specifically say that is what they are going to be doing. Don't expect the person that is offering a choice to give out everything in that post unless they say they will give away what is not taken.

Let's not take advantage of the generosity of the people of PIF or PIF will not last that long.

Rule 23 clarification:

We are not saying it has to have a label from the supplier on the bottle. That would be impossible to trade sample bottles. The bottles do need to have a label of some kind on them. You can go to Walmart and buy a pack of colored dots to write what is in the bottle on them and then stick that to the bottle. It's really not that difficult. People need to know what is in a bottle. You don't have to put all 4 things on there but as much as you can would be great. Supplier name, flavor, mg and the PG/VG are the main things that need to be on a bottle but all 4 do not need to be on there. We already have plenty of bottles out there that don't have all the info and we don't want you all to stop PIFing them. Same as the DIY, put the flavor and the mg and the PG/VG if you know it. It really isn't asking you to do a lot to help people to know what they are getting. I have a bottle right now that I would love to know what it is, but I got it with no label or anything and can't remember who sent it. I know there are plenty of people that are concerned when they get a bottle with no info on it at all and that is what has brought this on.

There are 4 things that can be on the bottle:
1. Supplier
2. flavor
3. strength
4. PG/VG ratio

As long as you get a couple of those on there then there is no problem. I hope this clears it up.
