Hey guys and gals! I haven't touched any of my mechs in some time - temp control became more to my liking. I decided to pick up a mech box, since I've never owned one. The problem is, all of the single 18650 boxes are relatively small and uncomfortable in my hands. The dual 18650 boxes are perfect, but I'm not a big fan of using 2 batteries (not a cloud chaser by any means).

So, question is, how safe is it to run dual 18650 boxes with a single 18650? Are there any detrimental long term effects on the mod?

Also, can anyone suggest an inexpensive (sub $25) box mod? Clones are fine.
I'm looking for something with a button exactly like the one found on the HexOhm boxes. Like the following:

1. Not an issue... same as running a single cell mod, as the terminals are "common". However... some require two batteries to take up lateral space - In other words, without a second battery, the single cell can shift. When you look at them, check the battery sled for a center separator.

2. FastTech carries clones of just about every dual box mod made. Use that search term - https://www.fasttech.com/search?Mechanical Box Mod - to whittle down to a few select models, and either buy from them, of find a US dealer that carries the one you've decided on.

Thanks, State. Glad to know I can use some dual mods in single mode. I was actually thinking about Fasttech when I posted this thread. Are there any that you would recommend? They have the Tuglyfe box for $32. A bit out of my price range, but it looks nice, and has the button that I am after.

Not a big box mod fan... but if I were in the market, I'd be looking only at "full mechanical"... as in no wire, no solder and no springs carrying current.
It's probably a silly prerequisite, but being a disciple of KISS... there's less to go wrong.
I love my cherry bomber. It was like 25 bucks and it is FULLY MECH. No wires, solder, nothin, just the basics and it has the ability to screw in just one battery if you prefer. I've never thought about doing that. Pop 2 in and even sub ohm I get a full day or more out of my Samsung 25r's

You don't have to subohm/cloudchase if you're running a dual parallel set up. Dual 18650(parallel) just means you have more battery life. So you can just do high resistance builds and have plenty of battery life!

Just pick up 2 fresh batteries, marry them, buy a dual 18650 box mod(most are parallel anyway) and have a vape.
