Having purchased 7 Russian 91% attys, 3 of them weeped fluid around the fill screw and 2 weeped at the tank sections. Not really annoying leaks - just a small ring of fluid on the bottom after unscrewing the atty to refill, or moisture on the tank after sitting on it's side overnight.

One of the first things I noticed when disassembling a new Russian 91% was the lack of contact with the tank o-rings. I just couldn't feel any resistance screwing the parts together, or taking them apart. The factory supplied o-rings are a bit on the thin side to make proper contact. Here's a link for replacement tank o-rings that fit properly. Zero fluid seepage for the last 3 months.

1mm X 19mm Metric Buna-N 70 O-ring [N1.00X019] : The O-Ring Store - O-Rings, Seals, and Kits, We make getting O-Rings easy!

Next up is the fill screw. There is no o-ring on this screw. Some attys leak, and some don't. I tried replacing the fill screws with the included spares, but I'd still have a ring of moisture on the bottom of my attys (and the top of my mods) after half a day. Here's a link for nylon fill screws that will forever solve this problem. Once again, this has been verified during 3 months of daily use.

Hope this helps in keeping your Russians dry.

I have an EHPro Kayfun 3.1, which is supposed to be a clone of the Svoemesto kayfun. I've always thought the o-rings could be a little beefier, but no leaks to speak of unless I force it by covering the air hole and taking several hits. Then, I get a little gurgle that goes away with a few hits. On a few occasions I seen a small leak out of the air hole, but that was due to a tear in the bottom tank o-ring.

I sometimes see a drop or two of juice in the collector cap when I take it off to refill. I just thought that was leakage that ran down from the coil deck into the cap.

The o-rings that came in the box seem kind of thin to me, but they don't leak. I just received a set of o-rings from a seller on Ebay with great ratings. The tank o-rings look kind of small, about 2/3 the size of the originals and would require stretching a little to install on the tank seal area. That might be OK since the ones that came in the box with my Kayfun seem loose and tend to come off with the tank when I disassemble it. We'll see.

I bought a set of o-rings like that on eBay. They were about the diameter of the evaporation chamber (lower chimney). They came in a little bag with some extra screws for about 8 bucks. Totally worthless. I told the seller they didn't fit, and weren't the proper part for a Kayfun Lite. His reply was that he couldn't provide directions on how to use his items. I just let it go for 8 bucks, but I should have filed for a refund with eBay. Then I found I could get 100 good quality o-rings from a vendor for 10 bucks.

I shopped several vendors for o-ring sets for Kayfun. His looked like quality and a good deal. You couldn't tell much from the picture about sizes. All except the tank rings look good. We'll see.

I guess I'm going to have to shop Lowe's for the tank rings and see if I can find the right ones. It's going to be time to get out the digital caliper and do some measuring on my last remaining good ones.

I saw a great video on youtube about wicking kayfun that suprised me. Everything you hear is
'not too much cotton only til it touches the deck
' but this guy wicks fairly normally, puts the lower chimeny on, cuts cotton abouta half inch above the top of the lower chimney then stuffs all that cotton in to where the coil is recessed in the cotton cloud. I have wicked this way for 3 weeks now with NO leaks from airhole. Before i would lose half my juice through airhole , in my pocket. Some of you may know what I mean.

I thought the same thing, but when I tried them I found out that I may just like them over the standard size.

Last night I was out of o-rings and my last good one was shredded from removing the full polycarbonate tube over and over to re-wick. I decided to try stretching one of those little ones from Ebay and couldn't get it over the threaded end of the coil deck. I finally slipped it over the polycarbonate tube and it was pretty easy to screw the tube partly into place and slide the o-ring off onto the metal part. The really good part is that unlike the stock o-ring it doesn't stick to the tube and migrate off when you remove the tube. I may just like the smaller ones if they last. If they work as I think they will, it will be an improvement over the large ones that stick to the tube and shred. So far it's been a day and no leaks.

I've tried several method of orienting the coil and wicking. The best method I've found it this one. I just make a wick that slides easily back and forth through the coil without shredding and trim it on both sides to touch the deck all the way across. I can crank the voltage if necessary and it seldom needs priming. It's much better than the manual instructions that come with the Kayfun. I wind coils on a 3mm rod.
