Russian 91% leaking, but not where you'd expect

Last weekend at the VCCNE conference in Springfield I picked up a Russian 91% from the Mt. Baker booth. I also picked up a juice called "Snakebite" from Cold Fusion - a yummy, cinnamon-toasty flavor. I bring everything home, clean out the Russian, build a 1.2Ω micro-coil and fill up the tank with my new juice (via the fill hole). Great flavor, wicking well, descent vapor, and I enjoyed it all week long with no problems at all.

Yesterday I filled the tank back up - well, about 3/4 full anyway, again, via the fill hole. No problems the rest of the day or night.

Today I now see a little bit of a leak/seeping around the seal at the bottom of the tank section, where it connects with the base. Nothing catastrophic, so far... but I'm wondering if the little bit of cinnamon in this juice is screwing up the seal? It's not a strong cinnamon, and the plastic section of the tank seems unaffected.

I'm going to try and make it through the rest of this tank before I take it apart, at which point a thorough cleaning will happen. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same/similar issue.

Thanks,

-C

It could just be some liquid that has worked its way through. May even be water from cleaning. I'd take it apart, clean it good, and check all Orings. Reassemble it, fill up by fill hole, and ensure everything it screwed down good. Hopefully it was just some liquid that worked its way out.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies so far.

The first thing I did was check if everything was screwed down tight, and it pretty much was. There was a little give at the connection in question, but only about 1mm - shouldn't have been enough for juice to get through, but I suppose it's possible. I'll check the o-rings when I take it apart and clean it.

How do you figure? 1mm is ~1/69th of the circumference of the tank.

I'm not talking about a 1mm gap between the base and the tank - juice would be pouring out. I meant when I tightened the connection, the tank spun ~1mm on the base. Not very much at all, and only the difference between "really very tight" and "it's absolutely not going any further".

and 1MM is a LOT!
