I built a coil for my Russian 91%. It came out to 1.2 ohms. I didn't really care for that. Too warm of a vape for me. I didn't have any problems with leaking with that. I rebuilt the coil to 1.6 ohms and I'm having problems with liquid leaking from the air hole. Any ideas to why this is happening? I vaped on it for a couple of hours before it started.

  • Coil may be too close to the air hole - around 1.5 to 2.0mm gap between is preferred.
  • Another item would be too much wick - and/or too tight to the coil deck. Nothing should "touch" the deck in a conventional horizontal coil and internal wick set-up... but the tails of the coil. In either (or a combination of both) instance juice bleeds right into the air hole.
  • Last is inadequate vacuum in the liquid side of the tank - flooding the atomizing chamber. Assuming you have it to lose in the first place - vacuum loss issues can be attributed leaky o-rings, missing or un-seated o-rings - especially the chimney to top cap o-ring.

Make sure your wick is perpendicular to the screws and not parallel. If the wick touches the screws there is a huge chance that capillary action will draw e liquid down into the airhole.

You want something like this...
