Ok, so I still haven't mastered filling my 91 from the top. Still leaks like a sieve and floods every time I try.
i finally gave up and filled it from the fill port this time. Everything went well, but my top cap seal seems to weep, not leak, just weep a little while using it. It does this whether I fill it from the top or bottom.
Anyone notice this occurrence on theirs?
Was also wondering what type of coil builds you Provari users are using in yours (i.e. Diameter, wraps, gauge, resistance).
Thanks.

If using the top fill method I do it the way Joka described except I let off of the air hole just before I turn it back over.
Filling from the bottom, I try to measure so I do not overfill and leave a little "headroom". That bit of space seems to help with the vacuum. Wish I could explain the physics, but it just works....lol.

i fill my russian and my kayfun with this same method and never have any issues, however i don't lift my finger from the hole until after I've flipped. I will scratch the surface on the physics for you haha. When you plug the air hole (before unscrewing or when it is empty) you are blocking airflow in that chamber, so when you add liquid the air will stay in the hole and the liquid will not flow down into it.then after you flip upside down the air bubble will rise up to where the chamber is, so when you release your finger the "pressure build up" will be released, so when flipped back it will have even air pressure throughout the atomizer, not an excess of air pressure forcing your juice out the hole! i hope that helps and helps break down the why behind what you're doing. with all that said, on my r91% i just flip upside down and fill from the hole and none of this is an issue. from what you've said you might need to replace an oring to get rid of the weep you speak of

It definitely is easier for me to fill from the bottom and thanks for the physics lesson. (the old story.... should have paid more attention in class...lol) Much less messy bottom filling and seem to get more juice in.

you are absolutely correct on all aspects of what you said. Should have paid more attention in class ;) you do get a little leakage around the o-ring and some drips out the drip tip when filling from the top (the cover the hole n flip method) and you do get way more juice in the atty (probably 1-1.5ml more) when you fill from the bottom.

I hope we helped, Happy vapping!

I had a ton of trouble getting the O-ring on the top cap (the one that seats on to the chimney) to stay in place. Rather frustrating. Familiar with protank II replacement atomizers? I took the white rubber gasket off the PT2 atty and it fits perfect in the Russian top cap and seals real well on the chimney. No leaking for me.

I never fill my Russian from the top though for the exact reasons of the problem your experiencing.
A. The Russian maintains a fairly strict vacuum seal. Screwing down the top cap after filling increases the pressure inside of it and forces juice into the channels, therefore into the chimney section+your build deck, and following that, down the air hole causing leaking.

B. You can't fill the Russian FULL by top filling. Its an easier fill method in principle sure, but if your a survivalist like me, you always have a screwdriver on a multitool etc present and have the ability to remove the fill screw.

My favorite tool for working on the Russian is my Leatherman Style PS. Nice little flat phillips screwdriver, rides nice on your keys and no knife to violate work policies/airline regulations. Off topic, whatever but its handy

I haven't had any issues with using the filling hole on the bottom...are you sure the o ring on the top cap is seated? When I first got mine it seemed to want to slip down on the chimney. I'm using a provari and a single coil 28g kanthal 8 wraps around 1.7ish ohms is about perfect...

Great great great flavor, takes a second or less to heat up from cold but lets you take a nice long pull...
