This is what I pulled a metal needle from to use. None of my 3.1's came with a fill bottle.

It works, and has been working through dozens of fill ups.

The only solution I have found for filling the Russian is the plastic tip from CML. Like I mentioned before, it's as if it was made solely for the purpose of filling the Russian. I find that pressure is critical when valve filling. Using a syringe is the best way to control the pressure.
The needle bottle you get with the Russian to me is a device to generate more revenue for Kebo from all the damaged valves due to the metal needle going right through them. With the metal needle, you can't tell when you have gone far enough to be depressing the spring to let fluid in.

WOOT!. Pink 20ga luer lock dispensing tips arrived today along with my 30ml bottles with Luer Lock caps for the tips....guess what? Fills right up no issues with the fill valve!. Now to see if seam leaks continue.

Well that didnt take long. New o ring and no top fill...just valve fill and slowly the seams are shiny with gentle smear coming out
Well, glad and sad post.... glad you got the tips and are filling with success. Sad about the continued seepage. Did you try the teflon tape like NamVet68 suggested? That would be your quickest fix I'd think. I just can't figure why it's leaking like that. I keep looking at mine trying to understand why. Don't give up!!!

Only thing i can figure is Mt Baker got a bad batch or old batch and machining quality isnt what it is now. The first one i got came with a bent post and flattened insulator. So they sent me a replacement and let me keep broken one (which I bought replacement parts for for 15$) the threading has to be off in the hundredths of a mm if an O ring doesnt stop it. I domt mind wiping off from time to time but i dont enjoy having my shirt pocket reak of JC Tennesse Cured lol

Yeah that's why they recommend you fill where it's designed to be filled. I always fill mine from the screw...never leaked in any of them. My husband always fills from top and gets leaks. We have several... All but 2 are authentic. Funny mine never leak, his leaks often. We can switch and same effect... Common denominator is filling method.

Solution is to fill from fill screw.

I agree always fill from the designated port side or bottom. I had nothing but leaks filling from the top.

Or it could simply be that it came with the wrong o-rings installed.
Had that happen. Shattered a Poly tank - thought a drop damaged it. Bought a glass replacement and shattered it on installation.
Pulled the o-rings and found they were 2 different sizes. Replaced o-rings and 3rd tank and all is well.(Carto Tank adventure)

Shattered from too much pressure? I had no idea it was so high. I'd be crying if I broke the glass tank for a Kayfun -- not an inexpensive addition.

The odds of both tanks being shipped with wrong rings i would think are slim. I found that the metal tank portion is slightly off from the base portion on one side. As if it is a hair oval. It is flush all the way around except on one side spanning about 8mm in length it protrudes . Hardly visible but you can feel the snag with your finger. This is om BOTH russians. Wondering if getting a plastic M tank would fix it. That way I dont have to re apply PTFE tape everytime i clean it lol
