Hey guys, I'm going to be getting one of these soon, and am going to run it on a Provari in 18650 mod. My hope is to run the coil at 1.5 to 1.8 ohm. Can the Provari handle say a 1.2 and if so, what's the max voltage I could run? A calculator I looked at said at 1.2 max volt would be 3.2, that sound right to everyone?

I don't have a ProVari yet, but 3.2 volts at 1.2 ohms is only 2.67 amperes and 8.5 watts. The ProVari has an limit of 3.5 amperes, so I would think it should work. I'm sure that someone who knows for sure will chime in.

PS 4.2 volts at 1.2 ohms would be 3.5 amperes, so I'd guess that would be your max voltage

provari has 3.5amp protection.. as long you dont go pass it.. you should be ok

heres the calculator.

1.5 on 3.2 volts.. you are good to go.. it will be running at 2.1 amps. ;)

I am getting my V1 upgraded to V2 as soon as I can get it mailed to them. This is from their email explaining the upgrade:

*****
I looked up your order number and I see that you do have a V1. The V2 upgrade provides a little more variable to your ProVari. The first change is that the voltage range is a little wider going from 2.9v to 6.0v. The second change is that the original version of the e-cigarette mod limited amperage to 2.5 amps. After that the protection circuitry would kick in and shut the ProVari down. The new version of the ProVari has upped that limit to 3.5 amps. Previously, the device was unable to run dual coil cartomizers at higher voltages. This is because the low resistance of the dual heating coils caused a fairly high amp load at relatively low voltages. The ProVari V2 should be able to run these dual coils at or above 5 volts.
*****

So as far as I can tell there is no Ohm limit, only an Amp limit of 3.5. So a 1.2 Ohm coil at 4.2 volts will crank out 3.5 amps with 14.7 watts power. As long as you are not a cloud chaser it looks like it has some room to work with. I use mine on my mech mod in the meantime until I can get my Provari upgraded. I like 1.2 Ohm the best, so I am thinking I can use my Provari within the parameters and still be happy. Of course you can always wrap a 1.5 and just up the voltage. I always just use ohmslawcalculator.com and make my determination from the wattage it shows (and of course to make sure that I do not go above the 3.5 amps). I figure I am vaping between 12 and 14 watts on my Nemesis atm.

Been a long time coming. Been through just about every carto, clearo, top feed, bottom feed and tank system there is. Don't know how well the coils going to work yet, Russian is still in pre-order status but it's supposed to be in the warehouse between now and the 30th. Excited! Lol.

Hey Oggy, can you tell me the diameter of the kayfun at the base? Is it 22 or 23mm?

I'm running 1.3ohms on my provari at 3.2v, love how it performs

I have a serious problem with my Russian 91%! the device is leaking when I fill it. It seemed to start after the first time build. looks like the oring for the top cap is not sealing properly. I say this because when this problem started, Replaced it with the new one that came with the device and it seemed to solve the problem. Then when I went to clean, replace the wick and change juice, it leaks again?

Has anyone had this problem? I don't know what to do here?

The small oring where the chimney is? Or if you're filling from the top what you need to do is cover the air hole with your finger while filling. Keep holding the air hole and start to thread the top on. Just as the threads catch hold turn it upside down and let go of the air hole. Let the bubble come up then finish threading the top cap on. Lookup pbusardo russian 91% and kayfun lite review. He talks about this issue. What's most likly happening is your causing a pressure change when you thread the top on which forces fluid into the air channel and causes it to dump out the side. Here's the video link. It's about 30 minutes into the review.

Help help help!!!
So I picked up a kayfun clone yesterday, looks like the fast tech one. I put a 1.5 ohm micro coil on it, using hemp cotton wick. It doesnt have an air flow control on it, and it seems really light running bobas bounty through it. Vapor production is low, the coil when dry burning takes a good second or two to start to light up. The coil is made from 28 gauge kanthal. Running on a provari v2 at 3.5 volt. Is the 100% vg just too thick for this thing without the airflow control?
