russian 91%

My Russian got here this morning =) I looked it over and it was Clean! I rinsed it off just in case, and put a build on it. I was amazed at how well it performed and at a Low wattage (Im at 12 watts with a 1.2 ohm 28 gauge Kanthal build). Going to use it on my hana modz clone for about a week to give it a good testing.

Ok help. I bought a russian 91% kayfun 3.1. Made sure to find one with the adjustable 510 pin. But right now I'm confused as to what does what. Clearly there's the big hole on the side and a screw under the atty next to the 510 pin, and I'm not sure which one is air flow contrl and which one is fill hole. It came with an Alan wrench, which I have no idea where that fits lol. I thought I had figured this all out before hand. Guess not. Here's some pics for clarity.

From underneath, the off-center screw is you fill hole. Be careful not to over tighten that one else it will start leaking on you.

The center screw is your adjustable post. If yours is anything like mine, remove that screw and you will see an inner hollow post with flat screwdriver marks on the sides (if it is anything like an original Russian 91% as I said). Tighten this one to keep the build deck in place if it starts rotating on you. (The build deck is where you put the coil in)

On the side, the slanted hole is the air inlet. To the right on your picture is the air flow adjustment screw, I bet that's where your allen key fits (my original Russian 91% has a flat head screw there)

So put the Alan wrench in each hole and see where it catches lol. Ok. So fill bottom, air side. Got it! How do you know how much juice you put in it? And the fill hole, does it have a ballbearing, can I use a metal needle or plastic only? Thanks peeps!

Wait, you're referring to the 2 holes on the side of the unit, right? The tiny hole is air intake and the slanted hole is the adjustment port? And the screw next to 510 on the bottom is juice? (just want to make double sure I don't eff something up.) Seems like a really nice unit for 28 bucks. And I also like that the drip tip doesn't screw in even though I'd never probably want to replace it.

Screw on the bottom is the fill port. Screw on the side is air control. Slanted hole is the where the air actually enters the mod.

I think the screw is not in the hole. I see one in the bag for an Alan wrench and when I stick the tool in the hole(s) nothing catches. That might be why I'm confused.

Now im even more confused. No screw will fit in either hole and I have juice pouring out of the tiny one. So sadly frustrated.

User error. I primed the wick with a few drops before fully assembling and filling (saw someone on YouTube do this) but once I assembled and filled it was fine. Draw is tighter than a (insert witty analogy) so not sure if I need the tiny hole drilled out or if there's a damn screw in there that I can't seem to find. None of the replacement screws it came with are Alan wrench-able (i thought there was one but I was wrong). Sigh. I feel like I suck. Flavor is amazing nonetheless, but I just can't get much vapor out of it.

Get some light in that little side hole and see if something is in there. Also, there have been reports of metal shavings being stuck inside original Russian 91% air holes, so that could be your case too...

Yeah I read about the shavings and am not certain how to get at them if they are in there. I will try the other screwdriver when I get a moment.

Definitely try the screwdriver, my 91% uses a flat tip for the air screw

Problem solved! The screw had such little tension and was also so deep it felt like I wasn't unscrewing anything at all. Almost like it was stripped and spinning in the Alan socket. So I tried a ever so slightly larger wrench, used a light like you said and noticed it was indeed coming out and now the draw is badass. Doh!
