When I fill my Russian (sideport) I leave an air bubble yet I still get dry hits so I need to cover the airhole and suck every few hits. This issue goes away after about 1/3 vaped, Not a big deal but I was wondering if there is a technical reason for this ?

Somewhat off topic but is there a russian/kayfun clone that has a side port fill that is shiny chrome? I am a truck driver so the fill screw would be a bit hazardous for me and I have learned to deal with the mess of the side port.

Probably your wicking set up. Are you running a micro? Vertical? Watch rips videos on setting up some coils if you having problems. Could also be your VG/PG ratio. High VG sometimes doesn't wick well.

A little off task, but I run vertical coils in my Russian and its wayyy better than standard micros.

I'm running vertical micro coils , I've yet to try a chimney. I guess I should try for ....s and giggles.

Isn't a vertical coil really a chimney coil? Do you mean your running a horizontal coil? Are you using cotton for a wick? What is your coil (wire gauge, # of wraps, diameter and resistance)? What device are you running it on?

One or two coils? you said "coils"

I had problems with wicking when running any dual coil set ups. Vertical coils work very very well, as long as you set it right and place enough cotton in there, but not too much.
