Okay so about two weeks ago I bought 500ml of 100mg wizard nic and threw it in the freezer. Today I got another 250ml in the mail so I took them both and used beakers to transfer them to amber bottles. The nic that came in today was completely clear. The nic I pulled out of the freezer had a distinct rust color. It is very noticeable in the beaker but you can't really tell looking at a syringe full of it.

Why is my nic brown and what does that mean?

Also whats the best way to transfer vg to my bottles?

Pure nicotine can be clear, or yellow. it can be strong in smell or very light.

nicotine oxidizes once one of its 4 enemies comes in contact with it. What are nicotine's 4 enemies?

- Water
- Oxygen
- Light
- Heat

the moment you open your nic bottle when you receive it in the mail it starts the oxidization process. Once nicotine oxidizes it turns into a yellow, rusty, or even pink color.
If you open your nic bottle after receiving it in the mail.. use some, then shake it, you will automatically oxidize your whole bottle because once you opened the bottle you let in light, moisture from the environment, and oxygen. And so of course when you shake it, it just oxidizes faster.

I have noticed that nicotine oxidizes quicker in VG. I have also noticed that most of the time nicotine will be clear in low strengths. Even if its oxidized because of how diluted it is with PG or VG. However, you will see more of a color the stronger the nic base is. Sometimes you will get a bottle of 100mg @ 500mls and it will be clear also, thats because it has not been oxidized that much and its been taken care of in the sense of keeping it away from it 4 enemies.

Just because your nicotine is oxidized, doesn't mean its gone bad. Nicotine does not spoil like a carton of milk. Normally i would give a shelf life of about a year for nicotine before i test it again. But if the nic has been stored properly and none of the 4 enemies has gotten to your bottle then it should stay the same as when you first got your bottle. Even after a year has passed.

To answer your question about transferring VG, all you need is a 14g blunt needle tip and a big syringe.. its the best way to transfer from one bottle to another without making a big mess.

Well dam ..... I never opened the rust nic after buying it. I bought this nic for long term storage- up to 3 years. It's all in the freezer now in amber vials.

Hi bace a flunt,
Sorry to hear about the accident.
Now if it was RTS nic it would be called bad, but since its Wizard nic, its got to be good
But seriously, my first bought nic, back in July, was slightly tinted and I think highly of it. So much in fact, that I am starting to experiment with letting some nic oxidize. Good luck

Did you contact the vendor about it? I am sure you will get all the info you need and a possible replacement-- if its warranted --without the vendor biting your head off---a big plus. It sounds like it started to oxidize. Did you buy those in close proximity or has the first bottle been in your freezer awhile?

Call them tomorrow and see what they have to say. I'm curious about their response.

I purchased nic from two suppliers at the same time and they're both in the freezer now. I'll check them later today and let you know what color they both are.

**Edit-- I do have a bottle of nicotine that's amber. Very amber. But mine is from 2011 and it was in a cabinet and I completely forgot I had it. Also never transferred it to glass.

Interesting. I might throw a few bottles in the fridge but I have a feeling the freezer is the best way. I've read a few reports of people storing pg nic in the freezer and taking it out 3 years later to be just as good as it was new. I'm using 120ml boston rounds

I sent wizard an email yesterday. They just replied and basically said that all their nicotine is freshly mixed and the conditions once it leaves their facility are not under control, but they are still going to send me a replacement.

For that type of system, I could probably afford to extract my own nic and still save some coin!

Oxidized, it becomes vitamin B. Niacin. That helps boost your good cholesterol!

A modern frost-free freezer unit found in most home refrigerator/freezer combos will dehumidify the interior of the freezer cabinet. Frost-free freezers do not increase humidity inside the freezer, but the opposite. This drying can accelerate the effects of freezer burn if the food is not well sealed from air.

so does that mean it is probably better to store my nic in the freezer on my fridge which is auto defrost instead of my stand alone freezer which is NOT auto defrost (I have to defrost it)? thanks
