Just like absorption through inhalation, everyone is different. For example, we've had filterless smokers who couldn't handle anything over 10 mg and ultra light half packers that had to have 24. I weigh around 150 pounds, have very dry skin and a couple of autoimmune conditions which means medications tend to effect me strangely. I bought a bottle of 60 mg that had leaked in transit and ended up with probably a ml or two on my hands. It took me maybe 30 seconds to get from the living room to the kitchen and get it washed off. Afterwards I had a pretty healthy nic headache. Someone with well hydrated skin who weighs 200 pounds probably wouldn't even have noticed it.

Here's an article on it that I found interesting; http://annhyg.oxfordjournals.org/content/43/6/405.full.pdf

As for poisoning the LD50 (50% of the subjects would die) is .5 to 1 ml per kg of body weight ingested. I don't think I've ever seen a dermal version for humans.

Most everything I've read on this forum by long time diyers has been to freeze your nic upon receipt in glass, either amber or blue, bottles. I have been mixing my own juice for a short time but will share what I do.

I receive my nic by stalking the mailman! Then rush it upstairs and transfer it into 120 ml blue glass round bottles leaving about 1/2 to 3/4 inch at top just in case of swelling when freezing. I label my bottles and place them into a plastic container, like rubbermaid, and cover with lid and place in freezer. I use a tray that is rather large to contain spills. I use a small funnel to make the transfer from the plastic to the glass watching closely not to overflow. I did not use gloves until I got a little on my fingers and had quite a headache and a little nausea for a bit. Now I use gloves to make the transfer. I prefer using small bottles for my nic as I don't use it that fast and feel like I would have too much air in a large bottle for too long a time if I used larger bottles. I get my nic from RTS but have tried nic from other vendors. I personally prefer RTS because I find that it doesn't have the peppery taste that I get from most other nic vendors.

The only way you will know the condition of your nic when you receive it is too look at it and smell it. I've had my nic (VG) in my freezer for several months and every time I take one out of the freezer it looks almost clear, and when I say almost, I mean you really have to look hard to see any color. If I received nic in the mail that was not clear I would contact the vendor right away and hopefully they would make it right like Wizard Labs did for you. It was the right thing for them to do.

To each his own, but for me, I will continue this process to maintain the integrity of my nic, and the gloves so I don't get that headache again!
