Rust in protank

While cleaning my PT1, I noticed what looks like rust on the inside where the center post thing meets the mouth piece. Has anyone had th is problem? I'm not sure how long it's been there since I never noticed a difference in taste but now that I know it's there, it's sitting in the back of the drawer. Is there anything Ican do with it or is it trash?

It's chrome plated brass and brass or rust for that matter isn't something you want anywhere near your mouth ore liquid give a good clean if it sticks around throw it I'd say

Saw someone else post about this about a month ago (few weeks?)... poor chrome plating as Fishtec says. If you toss it, keep all the non-rusted parts for spare parts... o-rings, glass tube, drip tip, etc. And of course if it was new I'd recommend returning it, but since it's a PT1 chances are it is not new.

Good idea to keep the non rusted parts for spares.... definitely throw away whatever is rusted though!!
